Do we recoup our picks on a Smith trade or are we stuck with just a second rounder?

He was Drury's quote when he traded for him. I guess Drury was wrong.

“Very excited to get Reilly,” Rangers general manager Chris Drury said. “He's a player we've been looking at and talking about for a while. He brings a lot of versatility to our lineup. He has a winning pedigree having won in Vegas. A proven playoff performer and he just fits in nicely with our entire group. We're talking to a lot of agents and

- Brukie[had] a lot of balls in the air throughout the day and just felt this was the best move we could make."

Well yeah of course Drury thought going into this season we were gonna take another crack in the playoffs

They weren’t selling last summer. Lmao

look. You’re a wanna be GM. I’m just a fan.

Ultimately we could go round and round on all this but we’ll just end up back in that place.

- jimbro83

Kind of ironic about your statement of him wanting to be a GM.

There are some big boys on defense in this draft. If we end up with Radim Mrtka, I think half this blog might need a tissue. 6'6 207lbs

I’m still trying to figure out how Panarin blocks Lafreneire’s icetime by playing on the same line with him lol

Who (frank)in cares lol

I love Panarin. He’s a goofy bastard and super talented. Saying it was bad to sign him is a stupid take. I agree with you. We’ve litigated this to death. You just want drama if you’re still arguing with him

There were at least 3 different people here this morning making the argument and agreeing that they shouldn’t have signed Panarin. It wasn’t just one dumb idiot though.

I’m not going back to find out if that’s even real or not but my question still stands.

Pickle thinks it’s stupid not to have wanted to sign Panarin. Come on. Don’t be afraid to counter his post.

Ok so the whole “Rangers didn’t develop Lafreniere “ thing

Last year he looked pretty “developed” to me. Had easily his best season and then was arguably the best forward in the playoffs.

He’s been absolutely terrible this season, so that means he’s not “developed” anymore?

This whole theory is a crock of poop

He has his opinion and I have mine, its ok to disagree.

Should I start calling him names now??

That’s a great argument. The first few years I think more opportunity would’ve benefit him, but last year he proved it didn’t matter. This year he’s regressed enormously. Desperately need him to be a PPG player next season. I think a blank slate and likely a new coach will do most of the team a lot of good.

This team needs a ruthless coach, someone who wont give an inch and will hold everyone accountable.

Agree. You sign a UFA Panarin 100% of the time, if you can. There's just no debate about it. You're Paul Bissonnette stupid if you do.

They need someone who hasn’t been a head coach in the league for 30 years already and refuses to change

I dont know if Im on board with the Coach Q stuff because its exactly the opposite of what Ive been preaching about bringing in a fresh young mind... but I gotta give the guy credit... only 1 losing season in 30 years as a head coach.

For sure that one losing season is the only stain on his otherwise immaculate record as a leader of men
