I dont know if Im on board with the Coach Q stuff because its exactly the opposite of what Ive been preaching about bringing in a fresh young mind... but I gotta give the guy credit... only 1 losing season in 30 years as a head coach.

We tried fresh with Quinn.. how'd that go?

For sure that one losing season is the only stain on his otherwise immaculate record as a leader of men

Should’ve been Knoblauch, right there in front of their faces. I do think the next coach needs to demand effort or sit guys, but also be willing to play and develop young players. Very fine line.

I didnt like the Quinn hire, and I was pretty vocal about that. I felt a young team on the rise needed an experienced coach to instill fundamentals and a culture of playing for each other.

Unfortunately this goes back to Coach Q, but look at the Panthers. They were a young team that needed guidance and discipline. Granted he had to resign early into the 2021-22 season, going into his third season with the team, they went from non-playoffs to the Presidents Trophy, and Im sure a lot of that had to do with him laying down the groundwork for what it was to play like a team.

To me, you hire Q as a stop gap if that's the case with the heir apparent as an associate coach. Have Q teach them the ropes, and then allow him to retire or go into a more management type role.

Tortorella was a menace, but he was needed after Tom Renney. Tortorella laid down the groundwork for what it was to play hard, play for each other and play like a team.

I dont love it, but I can live with it because at the very least, I know he wont take any crap from anyone and will provide the discipline I think this team deeply needs.

There are some big boys on defense in this draft. If we end up with Radim Mrtka, I think half this blog might need a tissue. 6'6 207lbs

He is a righty though so the other guy to look at because of how screwed we are on the left side is Jackson Smith, 6'3, 195.

Rangers need to tank and make sure the pick is in the top 13 so we can keep our pick this year.

There are some big boys projected for the 2nd round...

Carter Amico, RD, 6'5 216
Haoxi (Simon) Wang, LD, 6'6 212
Kurban Limatov, LD, 6'3, 198
Peyton Kettles, RD, 6'5, 194
David Bedkowski, RD, 6'5, 214
Jacob Rombach, LD, 6'6, 201

We could redo the whole defense with this one draft.

Would be nice to turn Smith into another 2nd round pick.

They traded for a guy that didn't want to be traded away from the team he was on and has been quite vocal about it. Say what you want but that stuff impacts the room. Dude has 4 points in those games! Speaks volumes. For both the canes and Rants sakes, they need to part ways soon otherwise he's not getting paid in July

Yea, thats rough on someone mentally. Meanwhile, everyone kept saying Necas isnt Rantanen and he wont flourish in his position are being proven wrong.

Of course, they're a lock to make the playoffs, might as well sit him and be able to load up for a repeat

Isn't next year's draft supposed to be much better than this year's? I thought I read that this year's wasn't that strong.

Maybe the top end is deeper, but you never really know. Draft em all and let it sort itself out.

This team needs a ruthless coach, someone who wont give an inch and will hold everyone accountable.

Wasn’t that why you brought in Gallant? (no sarcasm intended)
