As Knies continues to get better, and embodies what it takes to be a champion, management is going to have to decide whether or not they can continue to keep the one guy in the top 6 forwards who doesn’t give 100% every shift. Imo if I had to decide between Knies and Nylander, I’m taking Knies. Absolute beauty. Doesn’t make his whole personality about himself. Doesn’t give interviews with no shirt on. Doesn’t go get cornrows on vacation and post it on IG.

Nylander isn’t retiring a Leaf.

He might win a cup in Toronto, I wouldn’t rule it out, but at some point he’s going to wear out the coaching staff. There’s parts of his game he should’ve figured out by now, and he hasn’t. It’s telling that he still hasn’t earned at least an “A” after 10 years of being with the organization.

I think when all is said and done, it'll be in that range, but I'd be surprised if he signed for longer than 3-4 years. He'll bet on himself, and with good reason.

I’m not concerned with him scoring goals.

I’m concerned about the first PIT goal when Nylander was at the redline instead of playing defence.

I’ve been saying this for 7-8 years about his play. I suspect nothing will change. Both with Willy, and with you haters.
