Still pretty sad that the biggest news of the year is signing a 4th line guy that will probably never hit 40 pts. Such a long way to go for this team still. HuGo better make some (frank)ing moves this summer.

Evans has a reasonable cap hit for that role, he's very good defensively and he's very good at faceoffs. We would have needed to replace him if we had let him go.

You can pretty much put him anywhere/any role, in an emergency, and he will perform well (short term).

Indeed, I was expecting somewhere around 3.5 millions.
The 4th year of the contract probably made a difference.
