Flyers still tied for 3rd for regulation wins, a lot of work to be done on this roster to be considered a strong contender. |

Sickening. How they are so important to this team. They never mention a losing team who hasn’t made the playoffs while those two have been teammates.
They got the memo to put a spin on it on case they are not moved. Thursdays game will be even more slobbering. - Striiker
Oh they definitely got the memo |

Cates is an RFA this summer and a UFA next summer. Will be an interesting negotiation. Does he bet on himself and take a 1 year deal? Doubt he goes back to wing anytime soon even if Torts is replaced. Centers who can defend and even score a little get paid. Again, with the cap rising, if the Flyers are going to give him a multi year deal probably going to be at least 6 million/yr. That will be the going rate for a decent 3C in an increasing cap world, IMO. |

Agreed. I like Cates as a stop gap #3C until Luchenko is ready. Cates allows the Flyers to be extremely patient with Luchenko as well. No need to rush him onto the Roster as exciting as that would be

The Room Jr™ will be a 1C by the 3rd preseason game -- He will easily top 100 assists with the 2 russian wingers and average 25 minutes of ice time a night while playing in all 84 games |

Interesting pre game, ASF hinting that York is looking for big money on an extension. I'm sure he got that information from the organization to put it out there publicaly. Sure seems like the front office is preparing the fan base for an eventual York trade. Seems odd to me the organization giving out information on how negotiations unless it is not going well. Also, have not heard any word from Briere or Jones how they want Yorkie here long-term. Last summer, they were smooching how much they loved TK. An interesting comparison.

Trade Errson to Edmonton - WhiskeyMan
Ersson 35 games played .890 save %. For career, 92 games .892%. Maybe we are seeing just what he is as a goalie. NHL worthy, but not elite. My only pause is the Flyers goalie coach has been here 10 years. I am very concerned there is a track record of former Flyers goalies leaving and performing better with a new club. Organizational accountability must extend to the coaching staffs. |

Today feels like a good day to trade Scott Laughton.
Feel like Toronto has been the most talked about.
They don't have a 2025 first but I would prefer 2026 anyways. With a slim center market can I get 2026 1st rounder.
A player I would actually be interest in would be Ben Danford. Feel like he his style of play would be a nice compliment to Drysdale.
Most likely need to take a contract back from Toronto like Kampf. |

A player like Cates will want the long-term deal IMO. He is never going to be a huge point producer. Plus playing the way the Flyers play, and lack of talent also hinders scoring.
Flyers love their own players so can easily see an 8 year deal. Would prefer much shorter. At what money is the question. 6 million for a say 33–43-point player? Seems awful steep to me.
Doubtful the Flyers are putting him in play to see what his value his while he is playing well and contending teams begging for centers. Flyers are not a forward thinking organization.

They did talk about Konecny’s negotiations. Asf dropped 10+ mil cap hit and said it was justified. Others did the same. It was a way for management to get the fan base onboard for much lower but still ridiculous cap hit.
I think you are right that management has been priming the fan base through their media for a Cam York trade all season and this might be the final piece of information. |

Jones and Shaw coming out and speaking how they want a larger blue line spoke volumes because the highest upside blue liners under 25 in the organization right now is York, Andrae, and Drysdale.
The organization has a lot invested in Drysdale right now. They used significant compensation to get him. He will be here thru at least next season. Andrae is under team control and not much leverage. York as an RFA can choose arbitration. His side could win, throwing a wrench how the Flyers handle their cap this summer. I'm okay with trading York, but it has to be for another young player who also has a high ceiling.

funny part about the CAL game, Flyers win the game, only 2 points away from the final wildcard spot. Need more regulation losses. Be interesting to see which teams in the East decide to stay in the playoff race. PIT, NYR, and BOS have sold off players recently. Flyers need to sell more then Frost and Farabee to stay within in the top 10. |

The Flyers goaltending will keep them in the top 10. Errsson is entering his overused end of year meltdown. |

Over the next 11 games, Flyers only play 2 teams who are out of the playoff race. At the end of the year, they play 4 games in 6 days. Not sure even Torts can whip them hard enough to play really hard over that stretch. I do think getting up 6th is possible, but additional subtraction is needed. Goaltending issues alone I do not think will get them there.
Flyers sitting at 4th worst in the league with goals given up. Flyers sitting at 17th in goals scored, so the offense could steal a game or two. STL, OTT, DET, BOS, Isles, and Utah who are above but somewhat close in the standings have a worse offense.
