And why would they want Errs? In no way is it an upgrade. Think before you type… - Flyfly
They have been trying to find a goalie for years now. Do they really think someone is going to trade them a top goalie? A Skinner Errson duo would be good. Clearly both are not full time starters. 1A 1B would work out just fine for them

I'm very curious what the plan in goal is for next season. No way Briere runs back the triumvirate in goal again next summer. Plenty options in the UFA market. I could see him signing Samsonov or Forsberg as a tandem with Ersson. I think they make it known Fedotov will start the year in the AHL, and I believe we will see a new bizarre chapter with Kolosov who stays in the KHL next season. |

Honestly next year could be a regression year as well if they move more out. I would just run it back with either Fedotov/Ersson or Fedotov/Kosolov.
After 2026 is when they should start putting it together with all the picks and pieces your brought in.

It's possible, but I believe they will swing big and acquire a center. With that investment, I do not think Briere will stand by and stand pat with from a statistical standpoint (save %) the worst goaltending in the league. New Era of Orange is very interested in public perception. With my theory, swing big to acquire to generate excitement to help ease the sting of the ticket price increases, but do nothing to goaltending does not seem plausible to me. I could certainly be wrong. |

I get it.
Also something no one seems to bring up is this team will have a new coach. Depending on style of play things could change with the roster.

If they want to get McKenna can’t think of a better combo than a 4th year of Tortorella and the same exact goaltending. |

I think it is. There is no way he comes back. I also think there is no way he goes into the front office. They need to completely cut ties. |

There have been a lot of things that they have needed to do -- but they have done the exact opposite of that |

Not sure that happens. The coach reports directly to fan boy Hilferty.
Unless there is a riff we don’t about he will get and ext. I think what happens in the next 2 diss will say a lot in terms of coaching IMO.
I don’t trust the coach. So I wonder what he talks to Hilferty about. Can easily see him backstabbing Briere. |

If Torts comes back, he would be a lame duck, which is highly unusual for an NHL HC to start a regular season. I would be surprised if they extend him. I do believe the rumors Mike Sullivan would be the top choice if he leaves PIT. I hope it is not Tocchet. I would rather Tourigny from Utah if he becomes available. Jay Woodcroft was around the team earlier in the year. I do not see anyway they get David Carle. Pretty confident it will be a retread coach.

It all depends if Briere thinks he can have another year outside of the playoffs without pissing off the paying fans.
They had Michkov to sell this year. They need something else next season. Could be a new coach. Could be a big acquisition. Don’t know which way they go. I think coach would be the easiest. |

Looks like TB and SEA doing business with Gourde involved. Really want to see Laughton moved before the Jets game. |

TB gets Gourde, Bjorkstrand, and '26 5th round pick
SEA gets '26 1st, '27 1st rd, TOR 2nd rd pick in '25, and Eyssimont
Whew, sure seems like a sellers market. Come on Briere get the Laughton deal done at the very least. |

This is what great organizations do. Arguably the best run organization in the NHL.
Said several times keep an eye on Tampa as they need to improve their bottom 6 badly. |

People always say TB overpays and overvalue late picks but thats what a team in TBL place should be doing. These late picks are useless to them. Their window to win is closing. People act as if picking 28th is going to get you assets that prevent you from having to rebuild. It doesnt you might nail a pick or two and get a top 6 player or top 4 D but the team is always going to need to be torn down once the core is done. These players just become part of the tank
I keep telling Leaf fans, they gotta go all in. Doing nothing is wasting the prime of the Core. Makes no sense to hold it and hope you land a great future player to maybe win you a cup rather than a player who can help you already win a cup

I agree with you about the Leafs. They are getting some of the best goal tending they have gotten in years, I am sure they will waste it

Seeing the 2 guys from Seattle and Frederick move, is that a sign Laughton isn’t as sought after as being lead to believe? Or Flyers asking for too much. Could be a little of both.
To add if he is traded no way it happens before Thursdays game. |

Tampa has no issue letting franchise icon Stamkos leave. Meanwhile the Flyers GM can’t sleep at night because he wants to keep Laughton. |
