Not a bad idea. I just have a feeling the rangers want to get marner or eichel. Its why I zib kreider and panarin are all on their way out.

In Drury's quest to reconstruct his team the way known, but preferring players having at least 2 or more years term deal remaining, he may lose out, (to no fault of his own), in acquiring his one interested in pending UFA rental whether alone, or as part of a multi player potential package trade with the Sabres.

Pierre LeBrun's word today had Sabres' UFA (exp. $3M cap hit), Jordan Greenway & Buffalo suddenly "closing in on a 2-year deal," adding if completed, "believes the cap hit will be above $3.5M." Greenway had expressed his first choice was to remain in Buffalo if a favorable new deal would be presented him.

We'll see if this should affect Drury in regards to any serious discussions in a possible trade with them. Greenway was among 4 other Sabres via word Drury has inquired about, which includes 3 RFA's:
McLeod (C) - exp. $2.1M
Byram (D) - exp. $3.85M
Peterka (RW) - exp. app. $856K

In addition, at a $4.75M cap hit, but with just one more year remaining prior to being a UFA, Tuch has also been linked. Despite the new expected cap ceiling increases, the cost to acquire Tuch will be high alone, making it a must if acquired, for Drury to extend him, or flip him one year ahead in this offseason. In either means preferably prior to, or during the NHL Entry Draft before this Summer's free agency begins +/- two weeks thereafter.

Update:
Greenway has agreed to a 2 year/$4M AAV extension to remain in Buffalo. His physical presence as K' Andre is well aware of, with 80 hits in just 26 games played, (vs. his 3-G & 5-A) got him that deal.

Hughes injury I believe is to the same shoulder he injured in the past that kept him idle long, (in St. Louis if I recall), via a similar looking, out of control, speedy hard crash into the rear offensive zone boards there as well.
