Will they be fooling the NHL on cap compliance too?
Together they cost the Leafs 11.75 AAV this year and 15 AAV next year. Don't think it's possible unless Matthews goes on LTIR and Tavares is gone next year. |

What a haul for Lou - Canada Cup
The New York Islanders have traded center Brock Nelson and depth forward William Dufour to the Colorado Avalanche for prospect Calum Ritchie, defenseman Oliver Kylington, a first-round pick in either 2026 or 2027, and a conditional 2028 third-round pick, the team announced
Glad we passed |

Prices are getting high but the isles did retain salary.
Sit tight Tre, not the time to go all in. |

Starting the "there's always next year" mantra in March.
It's a bold strategy, Cotton. |

It feels they are too wrapped up in chasing B. Schenn and St Louis don't HAVE to trade him. I feel they are missing out

I am thinking the Leafs have something done but need to wait for Reaves to clear

Meh they shouldnt mortgage the future on this team.
Smaller trades to fill a couple of gaps. |

Ahh, yes they should if it means winning a Cup.
I'm sure all of us wouldn't mind another era of Kessel/Bozak talent levels after winning a few Cups. |

Rant to dallas? - Fakepartofme
Future intelligent GMs will add a penalty clause to trades whereby if a team trades players back into the Division / Conference there is compensation. |

Hard no to B.Schenn
He's declining. Production down. I get there's more to his play than just the points but when you're trying to find a player to help you win in the playoffs and add additional scoring...getting a guy with 11 goals in 70 something playoff games can't possibly be the answer. That and his contract going forward won't age well. |

I agree with this. Laughton, Tanev, depth D (I'm convinced Dubas traded for Schenn so the Leafs couldnt) and off we go. |

Who is available that is realistically going to make that happen? There's no one. Wasting their blue chip pieces just for the sake of making a deal is dumb. Add some depth, imo. |

Agreed. Not the player to spend our minimal assets on. |
