This is rarely written about because the media is dumb... TML can pre-negotiate endorsement deals for prospective FA's, can pay larger up front bonus' than low-mid tier teams like Carolina.

Tanev is 35, and he's the best defenseman we've seen in decades. Parayko would be an incredible pickup, but it just isn't going to happen.
