You make me sound like Theo Fleury
But you’re right, that exists. Just not here. I don’t have enough (frank)s to give.

Rantanen is only $4.6, aka Jarnkrok and Kampf.
Don't really need either. Holmberg replaces Kampf and Jarnkrok hasn't been around all season so technically doesn't need replacing.
If the cost isn't too high to acquire him, as a rental, I would do it in a second.
Knies, Matthews, Marner
Nylander, Tavares, Rantanen
That's a killer top 6.
If Marner doesn't re-sign, sign Rantanen. If Marner re-signs, trade away some money in the summer and re-sign Rantanen too.
Cowan, Minten, whomever else will never be AS GOOD as Rantanen is right now.
Leafs window is the next 3 years at least, gotta make a big move to get the Cup in at least one of those 3 years, IMHO.
After that, one top 4 Dman will shore up the defense and this team is ready.
How they acquire Rant and a Dman, is what I can't figure out. (Niemela, Robertson and McMann are the only other tradeable pieces with some type of value) - underhill14
and retention, it could be cheaper.

Most likely Leafs to hear "pack your bags" ...
1. 1st round pick 27'
2. Dewar
3. Robertson
4. 2nd round pick 26' / other picks
5. Minten
6. Timmins
7. Kampf |

My thoughts as well, but I'm sure Tre had a plan all along. It would be an epic blunder to do this a day late and have it handcuff the Leafs. |

You don't think Jarnkrok is pretty high on that list? |

I don't think there is a shot in hell the Leafs are legitimately in on Rantanan. The Jays probably had a better shot at landing Ohtani. But holy $hit, it would be wild if I'm wrong. |

If they add a centre with term ..I think Kampf is the easier move out. Same with Timmins if they add a D.
Krok could definitely be #8 on my list though. |

I dunno, they just signed him for 4 years, I think he's in their medium term plans.

Agree. Most are.
If the Leafs and Canucks don’t win a couple rounds this year, I think it’s going to get real cutthroat in both cities.
Say goodbye to EP40 and AM34. |

End of an era with the ol' Reavo eh?
Meh, he had a few fleeting moments, but his best before date was somewhere around 2018. |

Yeah I could see Pettersson definitely.
Matthews no chance. Unless there’s a deal for someone like Makar on the table, he’s staying until his contract runs out.
Leafs will fire Shanny if they don’t make the 3rd round probably. Whoever performs the worst will be moved. |

From the outside looking in, I think Shanny is gone first presser when this year is over, win or lose. That’s run its course.
He might resign. |
