I'm not sure Danny is the one you have to convince... Torts is sitting in DB's office right now hanging up on every single call related to Laughts, Risto and Poehls.

If Briere screws this up, all the patience and good will for him and Jones dies. The target goes right on his back.

Agreed….his first trade of Provorov and the subsequent fallout of the Sean Walker trade was a win. Re-upping TK for 8 years while moving off Farabee who was younger with a much smaller cap hit in years and money was a head scratcher. If he fails to move off Laughton, despite the talk of clearing space to big-game hunting, it really begs the question of what he’s doing.

The problem is there are no real media out there that will ask tough questions.

I would ask

"Danny, What you tell the fans who think you have no plan. They see your not bad enough for a top 5 pick to try and get an impact player at the top of the draft and your not good enough to be a cup contender" "Your a major market team that is sitting in purgatory with not real way out"

- J35Bacher

Very simple ask. Instead you have nutless monkeys like Kevin Kurz saying aloud on twitter that he understands why it is scary to trade away The Room.

Comparing TK to Farabee is a very bad comparison.

I will give Farabee his due. That goal he scored last night was a beaut.

Why? From a pure cap perspective and stated goals to get big names, it’d make more sense to keep a younger guy with a lower term than lock yourself in with TK for almost a decade at 8M.

Word salad for sure... it's like playing buzzword bingo when he and the other two speak. At least the Wharton certificate is paying off for some things.

Farabee is not worth his cap hit. TK for the most part is in line.

It was a mistake to bring TK back. It was the easy thing to do.

Yup, just to echo others... Flyers GMs are the symptom. Comcast ownership is the disease.

Doesn’t matter who the GM is when they all have the same crap mindset.

Dreger reporting Stars and Rantanen did not come to an agreement on a contract. Wow. No issue for with Rantanen waiting till the summer to get more potential suitors with an increasing cap. Stars apparently willing to go to 12 million/yr but not enough.

That was the final straw for me truly caring about the Flyers. Not a knock against TK at all but 100% the wrong move for the franchise in its current state and everyone knows it but the people in charge.

If I was still in on the Flyers at all the Calgary trade would have broke my brain. Full stop. All I can do is laugh at this point.

I’m getting the 2023 Trade Deadline vibe again. I hope DB is not using Chuck’s trade app

Not trading Laughton would be so unbelievably stupid and put the target squarely on Briere I really can’t see it not happening. It is 10 times worse than the JVR nonsense.

Lmao. Open eyes wider. He’s not making any moves. None. Zilch. Nada.

I would be calling and saying, I got a Konecny and he is already singed long term.

I wonder what TK's though process is right now. He got the bag. Would he even want to be moved?

If he has half a brain he has to see there is no cup contention coming anytime soon for the Flyers. Does he even care about that?

Right now he has no trade protections so I really don't care. I would move him and not think twice

There is no chance the Flyers would that to a franchise icon. IMO they gave him their word he will not be dealt.

He doesn’t care. He knew that when he milked that contract out of them. Young players just wanna get paid these days.

Should’ve took a cue from Giroux and Simmonds how much playing for a poop franchise sucks your soul. Watching those guys in later interviews in their Flyers career is painful.

Weekes reporting Sabres and Sens working on a trade involving Dylan Cozens. I guess trades involving players with plenty of term left on a contract can happen at the deadline.
