There you go briere. Fans booing end of game. But by all means do squat tomorrow. Stay the course - Stayin alive
I don’t think it’s for a lack of willingness or effort on DB’s part. I just think there’s no interest in the Flyers junk. |

They were offered a first for laughts in past. Which in of itself is insane imo. Even more insane is they didn’t pull trigger |

All calls go through trade app first. Their phones don’t ring unless the app says offer is acceptable… |

They won’t. I’m also old. I watch other teams more than ever. Fortunately for me I’m not in Philly stuck with only them. I can easily travel when I want to see other teams or hockey related things. Philly will always be my favorite team but I’ve accepted they will not win a cup in my lifetime as long as Cumcast owns them. - Stayin alive

Yea, I'd like to think DB would try but despite the fact that most of us on here want to move Laughton, we also know that he's not that good. Sure, he's a nice piece for a team that needs someone to bump around a lineup, but Scott Laughton on his best day is not going to be the key to the Cup for any team. Same with Risto. I like him but if I'm a GM, I'm not giving up too much for him or Laughton.

Walker was coming off a major knee injury and a bad year…he was actually a salary dump that the Flyers got lucky with. - landros 2
I was just talking about Peterson and RJ's money, which still hasn't been spent, just incase. My point was the amount of the cap dumps is hardly brought up..Normally it's Provy got a 1st plus, and Walker got a first. The whole cap dump is ignored, but it is significant.
No argument on Walker, he was a throw in, and they got lucky, but he was also a second pairing dman before the injury and was playing like one when the Flyers traded him.

There were rumors that we were offered a first but was that ever officially confirmed? After all, the Flyers were in on Big Buff for years according to the rumors.

It certainly was offered. No way credible sources have reported on it or mentioned it numerous times recently like it was a passing thought. Teams that very likely to go on playoff runs have no problem trading those 1st for piece they believe they need. Pick 27 or 28 or 30 or 32 means nothing to them. Generally as is almost always the case that pick isn’t playing for years for those teams. The problem is briere and Cumcast isn’t interested in trade if it affects the marketing narrative. |

That is malpractice if true. Every gm should be making calls. |

CoGM Danny Briere was under the kind and trusted tutelage of Chuck Fletcher. I have complete faith that the Flyers are in good hands.
Besides, the organization has also handled other hires extraordinarily well, such as the coaching hire. They utilized the esteemed hiring firm of Billy King to interview and vet the best candidates possible. It’s all in good hands folks. |

Just doing my bi-yearly drop in to remind everyone that the Flyers/comcast single-handedly killed my interest in my far and away favorite sport.
One day they’ll get a GM/ownership group that doesn’t settle for perpetual absolute mediocrity. Today is not that day.
I was gifted tickets for a game later this month and I feel obligated to go but can’t even feign any sort of excitement to watch players that should never have been extended and are unbelievably somehow still here in 2025. |

So? The GM is the guy facilitating those deals. Briere is one of two guys making the trade work. He is foing what has to be done to get the deal done. It isnt as easy as calling up a GM and saying heres this player, give me your junk players so I can get a 1st back. GMs are actively trying to win deals and leave a trade with the upper hand.
Laughton will be traded IMO. I understand it is not guaranteed but my gut tells me he will be gone. I wont lie and say I wont be disappointed if he doesnt.

Not to sell players. Thats a terrible practice. That shows desperation and desperation means you will take less than market value to move a guy.

We’ve been saying this for at least half a decade now. At this point there is little doubt in my mind he stays put. And if they do move him, they bring him back as soon as possible because Flyers are always gonna Flyer.
And he will be in the front office here as soon as he retires, circling a job he isn’t qualified for. We all know how this story goes. |

What a joke of a franchise. Moving him out of the room is scary. I am at a loss of words. Guess one day his Jersey will be in the rafters.

If the locker room is that fragile if one guy leaves, I’d ship Laughton out for whatever I could get. This mythical hero status that Laughton has is verging on creepy. I reiterate: rip the bandaid off and trade him already. |

I agree. They value Laughton's presence way too much. He's a good penalty killer. That, and being a "leader" in the locker room, are not enough for me to keep acting like this is Claude Giroux 2.0. He's not that important to this franchise. The front office needs to have thicker skin than this. They look weak gushing over a third liner like this. |

Now that Rantanan is going to Dallas and Nelson went to Colorado, teams will turn their attention to Laughton. However, Briere is holding the line, its a 1st in 2026 or he is not moving Laughton, period. We saw what Tampa gave up for two 4th liners, and thus Briere wants more than a 2nd round pick, which he can get anytime for Laughton. |

TK hasn't scored in a month......glad he is the face of the franchise and here for another 8 years....he is at a PPG...he seemed like he was going to get 35-40 goals earlier this year, now 30 seems unlikely. |

Very few scouts at Flyers games since the 4 nations concluded according to reports. Not much interest in Risto so far, and teams that have shown interest are not offereing anywhere close to market value for Risto. Right now it looks like he will be staying. |

The value of locker room presence is so unbelievably over inflated by this franchise, but it makes sense. Bunch of never good enough guys being led by a front office of never good enough guys. They will always look to off ice intangibles to justify their place.
If the locker room is fragile, which is something suggested in the press year after year with this franchise (regardless of the coach, players, GM) it’s because they all know Comcast is incapable of sorting out a goddamn thing. Franchise has been in GM carousel mode since some of these players were children. Imagine getting drafted into that nonsense. |
