Nope. Not at all. But he’s shown no signs of great play to get there yet. He’s fine where he’s at for now

I think one massive mistake Lavy made was splitting up Miller and Schneider when they were paired together when Trouba was out. They were playing some elite level hockey. They should have been left together to continue to build chemistry.

They were. Even Fox and miller were as well. Lavi has made some really bad decisions this season

Honestly, in a hypothetical dreamland...

Zadorov, Fox
Byram, Schneider
Soucy, Borgen

This D I think would be really good.

Lindgren should’ve been traded over the summer and Zadorov signed. Big miss by Drury.

I would not be surprised if Caps tried to resign him. Carlson not getting any younger.

We need crease clearers. I thought Borgen was a much more physical defenseman than he’s been. Schneider hasn’t been as physical as he was his first year or 2, and Miller I don’t think will ever be a crease clearing physical dman.

Soucy is a good physical 3rd pair guy, but we need that minute eating crease clearer.

This is why Id love to see if we could make a deal for Zadorov.

Chycrun can play top pair minutes. He defends well. He’s not small either.

Not taking anything away from him, but hes not the guy Id want playing next to Fox. Maybe as a 2nd pair guy next to Schneider. I dont want 2 offensive minded guys on the same pair.

6’2 205 isn’t exactly what I had in mind when I think of a crease clearer.

Would you consider Gudas a crease clearer?

Look at 4 of WSH top 5 scorers.

6’3 240
6’6 225
6’4 220
6’4 225

Wowzers

6’2 205 isn’t moving them.

You’re a bit too obsessed with size. Chyrun eats big minutes and way better than zadorov

Slavin 6’3 195.

They also swept the caps with that exact roster minus pld

Better how? Cause he puts up points? Sure. However, its not always about putting up points. Im not saying I wouldnt like him, but not the guy next to Fox.

Chycrun is good defensively can play big minutes and skate. What’s the issue?

He’s only put up 41 as his max. He’s just a good overall dman. Does everything well

I have no issue, but for me Chychrun would be excellent to pair with Schneider. Whats the issue with Big Z? Hes massive, destroys people, can skate and eats minutes as well. Furthermore, Big Z plays on the PK... Chychrun does not.

He’s not available. Just signed with the bruins long terms. Chycrun is an FA and he does play PK

I understand he just signed, but if Boston plans to continue with some sort of rebuild for the future, then most of the guys on the roster would be available for the right price.

I love when people say things like this and dont do the due diligence to confirm it before they post it.

Unless hockey reference got it wrong and is unreliable, Chychrun has logged a whole 5.9 minutes short handed this season.

Not sure on someone who just signed. Would you want to give up assets or just pay cash for someone?

Whats the incentive for Chychrun to leave the Caps? Are you willing to pay Chychrun 7-8m per year.. if not more?

I would rather pay Chychrun 8 million per year than K’andre miller 6-7 million per year

This goes back to what Ive been saying, Id rather have Chychrun instead of Miller.

Big Z/Fox
Chychrun/Schneider

Works for me too.

Yes, I think you need to have big physical defensemen to go far in the playoffs. Jones Fox and Urho aren’t going to get us very far.

Insiders said players love playing against Fox in the playoffs. Canada said one of their strategies against Team USA was to target Fox when he was on the ice. There’s a reason for that, 180 lbs can only take so many hits and whacks that playoff series provide.
