This goes back to what Ive been saying, Id rather have Chychrun instead of Miller.
Big Z/Fox
Chychrun/Schneider
Works for me too. - aecliptic
Yea not sure how we get zadorov but something like this would be ideal |

I’m still 100% fine with trading Fox btw.
Which defense do u think would make it further come playoff time.
Zadorov Kesselring
Miller Schneider
Soucy Borgen
Or
Miller Borgen
Soucy Fox
Jones Schneider |

If BOS decides they’re going to rebuild, I could see them trading him. If it’s just a “re-tool”, then no |

As I said, it was a pipedream situation. They also just resigned Pasta and Lindholm so its more than likely going to be a retool. Marchand will in all likelihood go back to Boston in the off-season. |

If the rangers trade Kreider I wouldn’t hate going after Marchand on a 2 year deal this summer |

Yes, I think you need to have big physical defensemen to go far in the playoffs. Jones Fox and Urho aren’t going to get us very far.
Insiders said players love playing against Fox in the playoffs. Canada said one of their strategies against Team USA was to target Fox when he was on the ice. There’s a reason for that, 180 lbs can only take so many hits and whacks that playoff series provide. - nyrangers9479
That quote was taken out of context just so you know. It was clarified after.
You need big dmen but the right ones. Miller is big and plays smaller than jones and fox.
Even the rangers “big” dmen don’t play that type of game. You need the right type

Which is why Ive been wanting to trade Miller since last year. I was really wanting them to make an offer for Hanifin using Miller. Although in hindsight, although I liked Hanifin, maybe would have been a lateral trade. |

Demers clarified it himself. Regardless it makes no sense bc he’s out scored every opponent in the PO when he’s on the ice. He’s doing something right.
The entire team just has to be better moving fwd |

VGK tight against the cap, Hague due for a raise (RFA) and Theodore has an extra 2.2 kicking in next year from 5.2 to 7.4. They don’t have anyone of significance coming off the books next year either.
Get Hague (6’6 245) and partner him with Fox. I feel like this is at least somewhat realistic given the circumstances with VGK and Hague due for a raise. If I had my wish I’d still trade Fox, but I think this could be a perfect partner for him.
Hague Fox
Miller Schneider

He plays 8 min per game. He’s their 3rd pair. You expect him to just play 20-23 next to fox next season? Big risk |

I would rather pay Chychrun 8 million per year than K’andre miller 6-7 million per year - TPC
I was at the Caps Wings game on Friday night and Chychrun may have been the best player on the ice. He's an offensive guy who plays good defense. He's incredibly fluid like a Josh Morrissey. I'd love to get Chychrun and be able to trade Miller for a big piece, but his price tag may be really high though, as the Caps have been trying to resign him and word is that he's waiting for summer to see the market. |

Not sure where you’re getting that, did a quick look, since Jan 20 he’s played less than 15 minutes only 1x and has played less than 10 minutes 1x the entire season (9:44).
He’s averaging 17:29 this season, which would be accurate bc he wouldn’t be getting the PP time Fox is to get Fox above 20 minutes. I’d even be fine with putting him with Schneider and making them the shut down pair. |

Also, for all the hate Schneider gets, he’s a 23 year old kid that has already played 269 games in the NHL. Here’s a list of players drafted after him in his draft class that have played 200+ games
1. John Peterka 221 games
That’s your list. Give the kid some time, it’s incredibly young in his career to be saying he’s nothing more than a 5/6 dman. |
