@NYP_Brooksie: “We have been told the #NYR  are not shopping Kreider — who has a 15-team no-trade list — but are listening. We’re also told that concerns over his physical condition — Kreider has missed 13 games with three separate issues — has limited the market

Remember who had it first before brooks

I’d love if Kreider could be a lifer. Accept a 3rd line roll with limited minutes and retire in blue, but it doesn’t seem likely at this point even if he finishes out this current contract here.

So if they stand pat on D, de Haan is the 7th D. Fox comes back Jones is back to press box. I don’t think Jones would come out ahead of de haan

It’s a little eyebrow raising to see Soucy come here and having played with Borgen for a period of time and not think perhaps Kandre gets traded.

Anyway, our defense is getting bigger which is good

Miller 6’4
Borgen 6’3
Soucy 6’5
Schneider 6’2
Urho 6’2

Just seems like someone will get traded tomorrow…either Miller, less likely, or Jones, more likely

Lou just got an absolute haul for an expiring asset in Brock Nelson:
To Islanders: Calum Ritchie, a 1st-round selection in the 2026 or 2027 NHL Draft, a conditional 3rd-round pick in the 2028 NHL Draft, and defenseman Oliver Kylington from the Colorado Avalanche, in exchange for Brock Nelson & William Dufour.

Update Jan:
The Isles then immediately flipped d'man Oliver Kylington in sending him to the Ducks for future considerations not known as of yet.

In addition:
(1) The Isles retained 50% of Nelson's $3M contract.
(2) 1st Round Draft Pick Conditions:
If the 2026 1st Round Pick is transferred to PHI subject to terms of a previous trade, or is not transferred and is in the top-10 of the 2026 Draft, then the Isles will receive the Avs 2027 1st Round Pick.
(3) 2028 3rd Round Pick conditions:
The Isles will receive the 2028 3rd Round Pick if the Avs win the 2025 Stanley Cup, and Nelson plays in at least 50% of the playoff games.

He would need to waive, who knows how this team plays next year. If they are a playoff team, I doubt he would. Right now, they look like a bunch of legos thrown together.

I don't get this deal for Colorado. Nelson seems so underwhelming.

Per Friedman, looks like Rantanen to Dallas could be a real thing. They may be working on an extension.

Othman would most likely be part of that trade package.

Othman, Jones, and a 2nd?

** Oh wow he’s only 23! Definitely will have to be a 1st

Dudes gonna test the market on his own time. Why just settle for 24hrs to decide where you're going with limited offers? Basically Carolina screwed themselves not checking if he'd sign before trading for him, now they'll get a crap return if he doesn't sign an extension as no one will pay a high price without one

a year after they traded for Guentzel and lost him

remember that thing that came out earlier this year with a poll of players who said Carolina has the worst facilities of all the teams? maybe that's actually a problem

Canes like to get the names, but do not want to pay them. They need a haul for Raantanen if they deal him today. They gave up a #1 center in that original deal. This is a franchise killing GM.

Raantanen also is a guy who just played with Mac. Im sure he isn't enjoying playing that black/blue style of hockey that Brindamor preaches

1) rantanens side says the hold up is not money related

2) necas is a winger
