Realistically what kind of big changes can Lou make happen? There’s not a whole helluva lot the guy can do. He has some cap space to work with but not enough to make sweeping changes. We all know we aren’t a beacon for UFA’s. The guy painted himself in a corner with stupid contracts and he’s ready to give another one to Palmieri. Money and term mean nothing it’s stupid no matter what it is. It’s just facilitating mediocrity.

The reality is Lou’s idea of change and any sane person are completely different. Expect more of the same.

Do we need a Wolfpack meeting, or do I really need to go to another game and talk to Ledecky?

Who wants to bet ovie breaks the record vs the isles

I said it months ago

I'll be there Sunday. It would be something to see it in person. Interesting fact I saw this morning: Ovechkin has never scored on Sorokin

I do not like Ovechkin's chances scoring against this defense.

It's sad when a player needs to be called out publicly by the coach. Coaches cannot win. If they do not do it, they are called soft and now they can be called out for being too tough.

I'm guessing Duclair is going to conveniently be banged up and may be even more conveniently out for the remainder of the season to heal

Who knows, but I would venture a guess that he's not too thrilled with Roy publicly throwing him under the bus and then backing it up over him

Not just Duclair. We have Pierre and Mayfield's contracts. Can we please just sign UFA's to 1- or two-year deals going forward until we can sign quality UFA's?

They said they’re allowing him a leave of absence. That’s never good.

Yeah I wonder what their conversation was actually about. I hope it was requesting a trade

Roy called it "positive" but he also probably wasn't going to come out and say that it was terrible either so who knows

I find it interesting that coach has had the most public lashings with the 2 additions that Lou brought in. I’d bet that Roy and Lou don’t really see eye to eye. Lou promised changes this offseason…..I hope he’s one of them.

Bottom line, do you want an 83/84 year old performing heart surgery on you…or some younger fresh eyes?

To be fair, I think Patrick coached Duclair in Juniors and may have wanted Lou to sign him. I think there is no question that Patrick does not agree with a lot that Lou has done. The owners are very foolish is they do not make a GM change. How do you even argue against it at this point?

It wasn’t so long ago there were some on here saying Duclair was going to be super impactful for this team. Guess they were right.

I really don't know how they can justify allowing him to try and rebuild this roster after some of the decisions he's made recently. There are undoubtedly some good ones, but I think the bad ones outweigh them big time. It's time for everyone to move on.

I think this offseason is going to say a lot about how much ownership can be trusted moving forward. I mean they can't be happy that numerous players Lou has signed to long-term deals have been scratched for significant stretches this season. $59.5M in total compensation was given out to three players. Two of which have been consistently scratched for stretches in year two of their deals and one just had his coach rip him in the media for being terrible and now needs a LOA to "reflect"

That's....bad.

We need Candian owners who love the sport and have big money. Or maybe a Candian GM this time.

Would you be incredibly surprised if the only one to depart is Roy? "He refused to use the roster I provided him!" Everything you wrote can be excused with that one neat trick.

Agreed….its very bad. If the ownership continues with Lou this offseason it’s clear their ad value is the real estate only. It’s doesn’t have to end on a sour note. Throw Lou a retirement bash…..get him (and his son) a Rolex and let’s keep it movin’ (from both Lamoriello’s)
