Ledecky and Malkin do not need to be hockey experts to know something is not right. I have to think attendance has taken a hit. The fact this is a vet team and not a young inexperienced team and it's not very difficult to make the NHL playoffs should tell the owners everything. What is in Lou's mind that he cannot imagine stepping away at this point?

Based on the last few years, I might have to agree with you on this. Their respect for what Lou has done throughout his career has hampered their ability to see that he is no longer effective.

Horvat and Lee are the only players to break 50 pts. That means 18 other starters are far below. Horvat sit 92nd overall in league points. Lee sits 104th.

Palms, Holstrom, JGP are the only players to break 40 pts. That means 3/4 quarters of your lineup is below 40 points. 75%

Dobson and Tsyplakov are the only players to break 30 pts. That means 13 starters are far below the expected norm.

Sorokin site 29th among goalies with 2.77. Sits 5th amongst games played. Sits 10th amongst most wins.

By the time he’s done pile driving this teams future the owners will have to deal with a long drought of any semblance of a competitive team. Then they’ll really feel the pain. They aren’t willing to rip the bandaid off and Lou is all to willing to keep the charade going.

Furthermore, I have always been outspoken about trading draft picks for legitimate proven NHL talent. However, this team has a few solid prospects entering the system that I am afraid Lou might trade off before they become successful here. In the same voice I have also said there needs to be balance.
