Gotta wait 2 maybe even 3 years to make the pick so the at the very best this asset won’t be on NHL ice for 5 years at least.
The Konecny extension makes even less sense now.
These Comcast approved GMs have zero long term plan. Zero. - hereticpride
The really scary thing is that Briere said at the press conference yesterday that he feels like the team is further along than he thought they would be at this point.

Yea. Sounds like they’re building around the cates line. You know, the kind of line talent you can bring in with 10 mil in summer cap space
Brieres just another cuck for the comcaster franchise |

My faith in DB was somewhat restored when he finally dealt Laughton for a decent return. Hearing that is depressing. Maybe he feels the need to placate to his Comcast masters. |

Would like to see Fedotov play the majority of the games left on the season. See what he can do at this point.

Because York is a better player than Risto - Dkos
So? If Torts doesnt like him, it doesnt matter if he is better. York is better than Risto and York is still the one sitting so why wouldnt Torts put his favourite D up higher? People claim Poehling was up higher becaus ehe was Torts favourite. Which is it? He either provides preferential treatment or he doesnt.

I’m not saying what Torts does makes any sense. He gets a hard on for certain players. Those players get a short leash. |

There's nothing left to do but rip the band aid off now. Fire Torts. Fire Briere. Fire Jones.
At this point they're just icing a team for the sake of icing a team. No plan. No future.
Just have to try something else. |

Fire a gm who worked to get a total of 6 1st round pick in the next 3 drafts? The team is on its way to have a top 5 pick in the upcoming draft as will most likely have a top 10 pick in next year's draft. |

He also signed TK to an idiotic extension and was full of himself after not making a move and reaching in the last draft. The Calgary trade was also horrendous.
Let’s see him string together doing a few things right. So far I don’t think I can even call him mediocre. |

Except it does make sense. Young players have shorter leashes. He is trying to get them to play a certain way and scratches them if they dont. He did it with TK and Sanheim. Once guys are around 26 he stops scratching them. He hasnt scratched Sanheim or TK since that one season. He laid off Frost a lot more than he did last season, the only real exception was Coots but we all know the circumstances regarding that. Torts is not the only coach to do this. Many coaches do. Rod Brindamor does it. He did it with Necas for example

CGY trade is fine. What do you expect to get for our garbage players? Its funny that our players are all garbage and no one would want them on their winning team but when one gets moved we expect the world back.
Farabee and Frost are no longer first round picks. The are 3rd line players right now. Only one has a sliver of potential to maybe a top 6 guy still. We got a 2nd, 3rd and reclamation project for both. Pelletier is literally in the same position frost was in being a former 1st bust. Not to mention Farabee had a hefty cap hit
It wasnt a win but it was a fair deal |

Would it be a surprise to see Briere axe Torts after this year? New GMs in the NFL like to hire their own coaching staff when they take over. Perhaps another year with missing playoffs is the opportunity DB needs to find a new coach. |

Frost has several 40 plus point seasons under his belt. Pelletier doesn’t even have 40 career points. Pelletier is garbage and can see why he was waived several months ago.
Frost is the 16th highest scorer from his draft class. Seeing he was drafted 27th overall seems like he is doing ok. |

I guess it’s good for the Flyers to make moves that make its former players happy. Yet something tells me free agents will still be chomping at the bit to sign with teams like the NYR and VGN (two teams that do not have great reputations for being kind when shipping their players)
That being said, kudos to Briere for getting a 3rd and a 1st for the draft that’s over 2 years from now. Perhaps these picks will have a chance to make an impact in 2030.
Hopefully they get a center for MM39 before he sours on the gold standard. |
