Valiquette posted the charts on X, man are they ugly.
Miller is 25 and it might be time to part ways with him. Its not development, it stupid unforced turnovers and his less than physical presence.
Trading him for a young center would be a nice surprise. |

Not sure where you’re getting that, did a quick look, since Jan 20 he’s played less than 15 minutes only 1x and has played less than 10 minutes 1x the entire season (9:44).
He’s averaging 17:29 this season, which would be accurate bc he wouldn’t be getting the PP time Fox is to get Fox above 20 minutes. I’d even be fine with putting him with Schneider and making them the shut down pair. - nyrangers9479
Vegas is projected to have nearly 17m in cap space next year, resigning Hague shouldnt be an issue if they choose to. |

Honestly, if we could move Miller and LAF for some key pieces, Id have to give it some serious thought.
Lets say we can pull off some trade with BUF were its LAF <> Byram...
Ryan McLeod becomes a FA, we sign him. 7x5m, he becomes our 3C.

I went based off how they were looking this year, don’t have any contracts coming off the books and Theodore getting a 2 mil raise. Not sure how they get 17 million in space, but I’ll take your word for it. |

I looked on puckpedia, with the projected cap going up by 7.5m. However, they will eventually need to sh it or get off the pot when it comes to paying Adin Hill who is set to become a free agent next year. |

Hague is only a RFA for 1 more year, so he could be looking for a 7 year deal, maybe VGK wouldn’t be willing to commit to that. He’s probably looking at 6+ on a long term deal. |

You may be right, especially since they gotta figure out if theyre gonna commit to Hill who will probably get around 8m per. He himself may not want to commit to them seeking out a larger role he wont get playing behind Hanifin and Theodore. |

If he’s available, he’d be exactly what we’ve been missing on the back end. |

Would definitely allow us to save on assets.
Seattle and Calgary are both weak on the left side defensively, maybe recoup a 1st (the later of the 2 1st round picks in 2026 they both have) for Miller. |

I’m not on as board about trading Miller as most are. I think he’s being asked to be something he’s not. Let him be a 2nd pair guy and continue to let him grow. |

The thing with Miller is hes been in the league now 5 years and he still makes a lot of boneheaded decisions that you would have hoped would have corrected themselves by now. Is that a coaching issue? Is it just him and thats who he is? Statistically, the numbers he accumulates look juicy, but the eye test doesnt match up. Theres no reason why a guy, with his potential and size, shouldnt be the next man up to play with Fox, however we all universally agree he's not it and thats kind of alarming. |

The only thing is his next contract is most likely going to be over 6 million per. That’s a lot for a second pair guy who is very inconsistent |

Is it though? With the cap going up 20 million over the next few years? What do you think 2nd pair guys will be making when true top pair guys will be 12+ |

Disagree, he has been making the same mistakes time after time, look at that pass yesterday in OT, unforced, just terrible.
He might be what he is now. |

...and this is where my LAF <> Byram swap comes in.
I think Byram is every bit as good as Chychrun, hes younger, and I dont think hes peaked yet.
If we have accepted Zib as RW or whatever you want to call it, and the plan will be to get Perreault into the lineup, a spot needs to clear up. |

Cuylle, Miller, Perreault
Panarin, Trocheck, Zib
Kreider, McLeod, Berard
Edstrom, Carrick, Rempe
Hague, Fox
Byram, Schneider
Soucy, Borgen
- Kreider is still on the roster until hes not, as a 3LW I dont mind him one bit.
- Hot take, Perreault wins the Calder if given that opportunity for the entire year.
- Both Fox and Byram will have 50+ points. |

Guys Hague is not our #1 LD/fox’s partner of the future can we stop lol. Hes a -6 on a team with a +40 goal differential
If Drury isn’t gunning for a proven, minute munching, lockdown defender to pair with Fox then he’s not doing his job |

Folks. If we step back and really take a minute to try and read and understand what someone just wrote it would be very helpful.
Maybe he is? He hasn’t been thus far. The key word here was “proven” |

I understand you want proven, but proven has to be available first off and usually comes at cost, especially when that proven player is a top pairing defenseman. |
