Hey was cozens on market at tdl? lol

He was and Buffalo wanted Talent for Talent, hence why they got Norris. Flyers didnt have anything Buffalo would want. The dont need another winger. Buffalo even sold low IMO

Just read York did not know why he was scratched. No communication from the HC, apparently. I'm shocked by the apparent lack of communication from the HC who preaches accountability.
- Trox88

This is something I brought up last year. It was either Frost or Coots maybe both who said the same thing. Theres def an issue there with communication. Torts needs to be better. No excuses. Players cant get better unless they know what they need to be better at.

Yup. Any time the franchise appears to do something right anymore it’s because they fell ass backwards into it. It’s an absolute miracle Michkov fell to them.
- hereticpride

I think mm geared it that way was the main reason. He only fell to 7 because behind closed doors he made it clear there would be issues if drafted sooner by certain teams.

I said from day 1 mm was best player in that draft. And feel even more confident in that now

Ever hear of a three way? I know I know. Way to far over briere head to engineer something so complicated when hahahahahah player like cozens was only rumored to be available for MONTHS. I mean trades are hard

If/when the Flyers crash and burn to finish another season under Torts, I find it hard to believe they will extend him or bring him back as a lame duck. 3 years at the circus is enough. He put the footers or laid the foundation, whatever he wants to cling onto to describe his career with the Flyers, but it is just time.

Do not judge a coach by the last 20 games; judge him by the first 60

Today is glorious.

Penguins beat Vegas

Flyers lose to OTT.

BOOM. TOP 4 PICK HERE WE COME.

I can also see 5 more losses still coming with this schedule and the goaltending we are throwing out there.

All by design. Briere is one of the smartest hardest working GM’s in hockey.

Amazing watching Seelers play deteriorating right before the eyes. No one saw that coming.
Meanwhile York Andrea Zamula all sit while Seeler plays.

Flyers goaltending and PP have been the anchor needed to sink the season. It is amazing how bad they are in relation to the rest of the league. At times, the goaltending has been good for short stretches. Kind of looks like both current goaltenders are better off being backups in the league.

As far as the PP, outside the first 10 games of the year has been an absolute dumpster fire. The arrogance of the HC to imply it is a lack of talent is appalling. His PP in CLB sucked. In the end, it will be incompetence which leads this team hopefully to a top 5 pick, not by design. At this point, it does not matter, just get to the top 5. After that, there is no way this coaching staff can come back. Even Pronger is calling out the HC. Good for him because the local media lacks that courage.

Honestly. Seeler is the least of my worries with this team.

Flyers sitting 8th with the bottom 8 starting to get a little distance from the rest of the league. I think 6th is realistic, 5th outside shot, not likely.
- Trox88

The Flyers are practically in 6th now since they have the same amount of points as Pittsburgh but less regulation wins. The regulations wins could be very important as the Flyers are tied for 3rd least in the league with buffalo only ahead of San Jose and Chicago.

It would take a pretty epic collapse to get into the top 5 though. They have 16 games left with only 8 against playoff teams with 5 of those 8 being the next 5 games.

I don't think there is any way he is back. I think the things with Couturier and York and lack of communication with how they were handled (their words) is a bad look coming from "coach accountable."

I think Briere is starting to take back this team and will be doing real GMing moving forward. No concrete info but things I see. At this point he'll just let the season play out but I think Torts is gone once season is done. He'll be nowhere near this team for the draft or free agency.

Seeler supposedly is pretty banged up right now. A smart team would rest him and anyone else with the slightest of injury but this isn’t a smart team.

I don’t believe that. Why would MM want to come to Philly over anywhere else? He dropped to 7th because 6 teams felt that other players were better options. He’s offensively skilled, but he’s a small winger, not a particularly fast skater, and it looked like it might be trouble getting him here.

I feel like there must be something going on with TK too. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has surgery once the season ends. Maybe a shoulder injury? Didn’t he hurt his shoulder earlier in the season?

I saw a screenshot of it since I don't have twitter (maybe someone can link the whole thing) but he had a good back and forth with Charlie O'Connor about Torts' miscommunication when it comes to benchings. After reading it, I would love for him to come coach the Flyers. One of the former Flyers I can get behind

I don’t think Briere is a good GM but he may be lucky. Michkov chose the Flyers. They got possibly the next great Russian goalie with their 2nd goalie pick. It’s looking like an accidental tank job after trying to compete. And the players and outside voices are very publically turning against Tortorella possibly doing what he doesn’t have the guts to do. I wouldn’t be shocked if the team won the lottery this year or even next.

Sometimes lucky is better than good.

From an Inquirer interview with York:
“When asked if he needs to get a chip on his shoulder again, York responded: "I'm not playing to prove him anything. I'm playing for the guys in this locker room and the logo on my chest. I'm not playing for him necessarily, if that makes sense.

"Whatever he thinks, I don't know. If there was communication, then maybe I would understand. But I'm not sure, really. I'm going to play as hard as I can here, and like I said, this last little stretch of games here, just want to play some of the best hockey that I can."

Constantly blocks shots will do that and take years off your hockey life span.

No worries only 3 more years. Then he will be a developmental coach.

Whenever a player struggles he must be hurt. Never understood that logic.
