Who said it was harts fault.

Flyers thought they had their #1 goalie for years to come.

Fedotov or errson or kolosov were going to be #2.

- WhiskeyMan

is this not what you said:

"Funny how people forget they wouldn't be in this goalie position if Hart and friends didn't do what they did."

I will answer for you. Yes it is what you said. Looks like blaming Hart to me.

He's not the only one saying that the top forwards in this draft are not top shelf talents. They're all more "top-six potential" more than slam dunk stars.

Schaefer is the only guy that looks truly special pre-draft.

- Tomahawk

Luckily the Flyers need everything and when top shelf guys are available through trade they usually go for middle of lineup prospects. A second tank year would be beneficial even if they win the lottery.

They legitimately could finish with the 4th worst record have to tank on. Who cares about a goalie for next year we have 2 signed. Another year in the turd bowl

There is a zero percent chance the Flyers will not try to substantially improve their team this off season. Whether they can succeed to some/any degree will remain to be seen.

This will be Brier’s 3rd off season. He has already said they are now in the building phase. Playoffs is the goal. They will not be taking a step backwards or stay the same by design.

I expect one player through trade and one UFA. Don’t think that’s going to be enough to radically change the direction of the team. The funny thing is they have been relatively injury free this year. That won’t last next year.

If that is the case the first phase of the Briere regime has been a failure. All that just to come out of it with Michov, which was pure luck? I guess we'll see who they can nab in this year's draft, but I don't see them losing out.

I fully endorse going back to FA/trades for established goalies. Every goalie prospect they’ve developed in the last 15 years has hit a wall here then played better elsewhere. Probably would’ve been the same case with Carter Hart too.

2 interesting goalies in this draft but at this point it’s a pass from me because the Flyers just can’t get the right people in place to develop them.

You’d think, by now, perhaps they’d replace their goaltending coaches. Of course, this is the same group that still has Rocky running the pp so I don’t expect much.

They really should push it to next offseason, that's when all the money comes off the books. Fedotov, Laughton, Hayes, Atkinson. Ellis enters his final year so maybe that contract becomes a tradeable asset. 2026 UFA class is a lot better than this one too (assuming some make it there).

But I highly doubt that will happen. With Petersen and DeAngelo up, they will be ecstatic with some cap space. And overpay for some sap to come here.

There will say they are hitting free agency in 2 phases or some crap that the fans will eat up.

Free agent market for goalies is garbage this offseason. Next season will be another painful one.

Those last two teams are lost causes. We’re not catching them
Huge pen win though upcoming

They have to do something for the STH’s. Or town hall might get uncomfortable.

Flyers can maybe catch Buffalo at the 3rd spot. But not the bottom 2 teams

I mean is this even a desirable coaching destination for anyone anymore? It’s been an absolute revolving door of coaches and GMs for a decade with no end in sight.

Worst of all, the poor kids they draft now won’t have ever even remembered the Flyers being a remotely competitive franchise.

At least there’s a (frank)ing term limit now lol. Flyers were as much to blame for that one as Bryz imo.

If only there was a chance to make a fair deal with Nashville for a young goaltender with potential earlier this season.

No way that was a possibility.

With the Flyers track record Zavragin or Bjarnason will turn in to the next Bobrovsky after they trade them in the deal.

Dude I was screaming for them to make that deal. Another unbelievable botch from the front office.

They absolutely could’ve made that deal too.

Bolts showing no respect, playing the barely used goaltender. Need that regulation loss for the Flyers.

It feels weird that I am almost rooting against the Flyers now, with the intent of them getting a higher pick for the future.
