New Jersey 2 - Columbus 0 after 2 periods.
Rangers lost last night, would be nice if Columbus lost ... and a Habs win tomorrow against the Sens would set us up nicely. |

Yep ... should be an intense game.
Normally, I wouldn't be watching games like New Jersey-Columbus or Rangers-Oilers but being "in the mix" makes things interesting. |

it's a tight race in the East for sure, the rankings could be determined by the very last games of the season... I'm already pretty satisfied with how the habs have been playing this year but at this point (frank) it, I want them to make it lol. |

that would be sweet, but do you think Tkachuk drops the gloves against Xhekaj..?
I mean, I know Brady is a tough ugly son of a b!tch but I don't know if he fights that often, although I'd really like to see it happen... |

lol, I know people have been poopting on the guy but it's weird how his ice time has been managed, can't really blame him for not finding his groove when you barely play 5 minutes.
but yeah, it's impressive what they're doing, and that's without Guhle who's an important piece on the backend... if the second line continues playing like they did last Saturday against the panthers, I'd say they have a pretty solid chance of making the playoffs. - Pat1993

I think Newhook is a good option as the 2nd line C, at least for now.
also, this guy : After the Canadiens went 1-7-1 in their last nine games before the 4 Nations Face-Off break in the schedule to fall six points out of a wild-card playoff spot, Suzuki met with general manager Kent Hughes and asked him not to break up the team at the March 7 NHL trade deadline. Hughes told Suzuki it was up to him as captain to put the team on his shoulders and start winning games or there would be trades. The Canadiens won their first five games after the break with Suzuki posting 4-9-13 totals and Hughes decided not to make any moves on trade-deadline day. The Canadiens are now 7-1-2 in 10 games since the 4 Nations break and Suzuki has 5-12-17 totals over that span. As of Monday morning, the Canadiens were only one point out of a wild-card playoff spot.

yup, Suzuki is on a mission, he might be bland when he talks to the media but he looks like a pretty damn good captain. I don't care anymore about that "oh but is he a 1st line center or not" talk, personally I'm convinced they can win a cup with this guy, with the right team of course.
and yeah if Newhook can find and maintain chemistry with Laine and Roy 5 on 5, the habs actually might have a decent 2nd line now...

oh for sure lol.
plus, Tkachuk probably gets his face even more wrecked, if that's even possible.

Oh, he is a legit first line centre, no doubt in my mind about that and he is proving it this season more than ever.
They need to work on that 2nd line this summer. Demidov will help. No idea who will be the C on that 2nd line to start the season. |

holy poop, can't wait to see this kid in a habs jersey. gonna be a pretty interesting summer for Hughes and Gorton, I anticipate a very nice move or two to really boost this team.
