Private school in Quebec is very cheap compared to other provinces, it is highly subsidized. You pay what? 5-7K/yr per kid?

One year of private high school in Ontario is between 20 to 35K depending on the school per kid.

a few years ago I paid 44K in daycare in one year thank god I only have before and after school to pay now. It's still 14K/yr for the 3 of them. I just don't trust the oldest to handle the other 2 and I work for home most of the time. A couple more years and I will have to deal with that.

I mean even if you send your kid to private daycare, between the tax refund, the money the government sends you to pay for it and allocations familiales, it shouldn't really cost you that much in the end.

Of course if you're lucky enough to get into a CPE, it's not expensive at all.

My god-daughter has a rare genetic disability that puts her at the arse-end of the autism spectrum and they are paying through the nose for daycare despite the subsidies. Both work fulltime maybe over 100k each and it's still maxing them.
