Well you can claim that on your taxes no?
I'm lucky we got a spot in a CPE, great place, great educators.
Last month I got a family doctor after 5 years on a waiting list.

"CPE" can refer to several things, including Carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE), a group of bacteria resistant to certain antibiotics, or Continuing Professional Education (CPE), a requirement for maintaining professional credentials, or Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), telecommunications and IT equipment at a customer's location, or Common Platform Enumeration (CPE), a structured naming scheme for IT systems and software.
Glad you got a doctor. I had to go out of the city to get one |

It's not supposed to be?
I mean even if you send your kid to private daycare, between the tax refund, the money the government sends you to pay for it and allocations familiales, it shouldn't really cost you that much in the end.
Of course if you're lucky enough to get into a CPE, it's not expensive at all. - Scabeh
My boy got into 2! First one called us when he was 6 months old. When he was 2 we moved him to the one close to the hospital where my GF works because half the spots there are priority for healthcare workers, so we didn't have to go 10 minutes out of our way to drop him off. |

Government run daycare...means it's less expensive for the lucky ones that have contacts to get in otherwise you're on a waiting list and they call you when your kid leaves the house at 18. |

Tax refund? depends how much you make, I get the max allowed in Ontario, $850. Doesn't matter if I spend 5K or 44K.

half the daycares in Ontario are leaving the subsidized program (all private here), Gvt of Ontario is screwing them and they are all close to bankruptcy. Ours left the program last month. Price doubles on April 1st. |

Pretty much, another government thing that's a bad/good idea. They have to run buildings, employees who are often on strike, etc. Raises the price of private daycares by increasing salaries to catch up to public ones...etc. |

Yeah it was at at point at one day it was 5$/day capped and they were all saying they will close it. They uncapped it but it's still hella cheap like 8,40$ or something. Just making him lunchs for school is probably not far from that. |

They never got to a strike in my 5 years.
And one thing that is good is that's it's decentralize, each CPE as a conseil d'administration (that I never went to) and the director controls her establishment not somebody in Quebec who never sent the foot in the building.
Like how most gov. should be run anyway but the are going the other way creating centralized agencies and mega structures that are un-manageable.

Yeah I imagine for alot of couples having one of the two stay at home is a viable option because you are basically just working to pay for daycare |

At 3-4 kids, if one of the two parents has a lower salary, it's probably worth it. |

I think most just can't agree with anything Trump does good or bad.
It's called TDS, Trump derangement syndrome.
