Will be interesting to see who he’s paired with. Drury didn’t really find a great match unless they try him with Miller again and then reunite Borgen and Soucy.

If that pair could click the others fall into place but don’t have much confidence in Miller providing that stability Fox needs to play his game.

If we decide to keep rolling Trocheck as 2C, then maybe we can make a run at Sam Bennett for 3C who will be a FA. Although Im pretty sure FLA will do what they can to resign him.

If we believe Trocheck should be the 3C, then I feel like there are 2 options. With the expectation that Lavy is fired and a new system is brought in. We pull Zib into a 2C role, which I believe he was always more suited for. Or we make a trade for one and leave Zib at RW.

Man to man system doesn’t work.

1-2 good games from him still a small sample. He’s had some bad ones too. Sheltered minutes and new system will help him long term probably

It makes sense why man on man D doesnt work here... we know we dont have the fastest, best skaters and asking them to man up on guys is a recipe for disaster. Thats why they constantly get skated by. When guys rotate and score in the slot, its not necessarily because someone is out of position, its because theyre simply not quick enough to make the defensive switches.

I dont understand what it is with the coaches we get. Gallant had them playing the right way, but refused to make in-game adjustments and would get out coached. Lavy has them playing the wrong way for their skill set, refuses to acknowledge it and wont change.

Yes you are right, boy was he on a tear before covid, 100 point season I would have bet!!

Its still hockey and they have most likely the best chance of taking that final wild card spot. If they make it, money in Dolans pocket, if not id want to know what was the reason for the break down that happened this season.
