Sanheim could have been moved pre his extension. On the last year of his deal with maximum retention he could have been moved - and should have been. It was Krug that stopped the deal to St Louis.
I don’t see them moving Konecny now, especially with Jones going all in on trying to improve their image league wide.
Both players should have been moved pre extension. To get more assets, but more importantly to improve draft positioning.
Again, we have Michkov, Luchanko, Bonk - and say pick 7 this year. They are already talking about being eager to move this along. I’ll add Cates, Foerster, York, and Drysdale as Keith Jones would be upset if I didn’t. That group, plus say a 7th overall pick is the prize here? After a decade of bullpoop, and a “rebuild” by the triumvirate?
In what should have been a window to gather your high end pieces, they have failed to do that. Seasons thrown away, for what exactly? - flyer_nutter
Yes but that was Fletcher. We may pick 7 sure but it seems like Hagens is dropping so it looks like another guy might fall to us. Of course they will need to get the sense that he will sign here if they pick him. Flyers also could move up or down via the lottery so it doesnt really matter where they fall. We could finish worst in the league and still potentially pick 11th. Where ever they pick is out of their hands. Lottery will decide.

I understand it was Fletcher.
It may be, let’s call it.. cruel - to say Briere’s tenure isn’t his own, but that’s how I see it.
They fired nobody other than Fletcher, and promoted his assistant to the GM role. Hell they even kept his other assistant GM in Flahr.
The Flyers have been run by essentially the same group of people since Hextall was fired. It’s all the same men, and nobody can tell me Fletcher somehow was a Tony Montana. Not when “collaboration” was constantly the buzzword during that time.
If Briere thinks he can move up so easily, I’d remind them of how the Demidov draft went. When they telegraphed how badly they wanted him.
Teams so rarely move those top picks. Michkov, number 5-7 this year, and Luchanko/Bonk. That’s not a successful core. Nowhere near it, yet they want to say the rebuild is nearly done?
They never even began. It’s the same half in, half out bullpoop. |

It’s why I want them to offer sheet. To trade the picks they do have.
Because Daniel Briere has done a piss poor job of putting them into a position to milk the draft properly.
So yeah, go chase free agents, make the trades, and send out those of these picks - because you’ve proven yet again, that as an organization you have no clue how to rebuild properly through the draft. |

Not many offersheet options. MIN will match Rossi, Johnston has signed. Best they could do is maybe Dobson

For what exactly?
Exactly what I’ve been female doging about the last few years. My stomach would turn last year when people would make excuses and say they are enjoying them in playoff contention. Damn the draft position. That they were tired of seeing losing hockey. Just wanted meaningful games. Blah blah blah and like you said for what exactly?
Such a damn waste and as we see it cost them in position then they bombed the pick. And we’re right back to square one
Add in the narrative of cutter and mm future being destroyed in the mix of collapse last year and watching these tools extend Tk and get 25% of their games to go to ot and cost them position for this years draft is just more for what exactly.
I can’t wait to see what comes next |

Well for hopes sake we can’t have them do that. I totally get why you feel that way but once these bozo’s are fired in a year or two there will be a period of short time for hope the new guys get it. Same as when Fletcher was fired and briere hired.
Doing what you said would just add to the problem in a big way |

I'm feeling more confident this will be Torts last year behind the bench. The narrative from the organization has been the team will be ready to compete as a true contender in the '26-'27 season. As of now, all the dead money is gone by that time. I would think it would be better to already have the HC in place for a year to install his system before the rebuild is officially over. |

Of course they want Misa but they won too many games early in the season by hanging onto vets they didn’t need. Always in the same spot this time of year being so close to the top pick but oh so far. They’ll never learn.
Honestly with this draft though all they have to do is get a top 10 pick and whatever Center they take there is going to be the future 1C here. The road is wide open.
Now let’s just hope Briere doesn’t think he’s the smartest guy in the room again reaching on another Jett type. - hereticpride
Jett is gonna be good, he is not as big of a reach as you think, I watched a long of gulph games , he definitely the best player on his team, and I can see easy 2 line center ad potentially 1 c |

When you're a losing franchise with an unpopular coach calling the shots you gotta worry about stuff like the NCAA "loophole".
Funny how this was never a problem for them before. - Tomahawk
It has nothing 2 do with the coach, he wanted the flyers to burn a year on his entry level deal, they didnt so he asking to be traded |

They had plenty of opportunity with Sanheim, or Konecny to maximize value in a trade pre extension - and further ensure they picked lower in the draft.
Retaining those two was asinine, even after Krug cancelled the deal.
Everything else aside, the decision to not fully rebuild by moving those two players will be felt for a while.
Now yes, all you’ve got are assets in latter round picks to try to get higher end talent - or free agency.
Michkov, and pick #7 this year are not nearly close to enough. The Briere era is just a waste of time as currently set up.
Jones, and Briere are praying free agency saves them. - flyer_nutter
It's not as bad as u think |

I agree about Torts. Hoping that Briere has a short list going in his back pocket since Jan. Gonna be a very important hire for Briere’s tenure.
Also I think they could end up with the 6th spot, maybe a little luck, the 5th. With Schaefer and Martone going in the top 5 for sure, the Flyers should get one of the top four centers. Hagens, Frondell, Misa, or Desnoyers. I’d be okay with any of those. |

Some scoreboard love tonight. Both Anaheim and Seattle win and nudge closer. |
