Yes, I have doubt the guy is smart and articulates himself well in a presentation, but at the end of the day are the players improving under his leadership, and unfortunately the answer is a resounding No. Get a dumber coach then is what I say.

I don't think Torts should be fired, but at a minimum he does have to do two things IMO if he wants to continue coaching: 1. replace Rocky or add a PP coach to the staff, 2. enforce that the Phantoms play the same style/system as the Flyers so players getting called it can slot right into the lineup without any adjustments.

Any good coach at any level is going to coach to win games, otherwise they should be fired. Torts wants to win, I have no problem with that. But what I don't like is sitting players late in games based on the situation, for example, playing Michkov only 3 shifts in the 3rd period when the Flyers up by a goal. I would even put Michkov on the PK to help him develop, but short of this, he needs to play in all situations in order to develop, and I think sitting young players because you don't trust them is not a good way to develop them.

What delay? You literally look for a reason to get pissy. We dont have the talent to be contenders, we need to tank but keeping a lame duck coach is wasting a year....... They uyear is wasted regardless because we are a bad team and thats not changing next season unless the team does what everyone fears they will do.

Think about it. The last two drafts have had better talent in the top 5 than this one. The Flyers did not pick in the top 5 in either of the last two and may not in this one.

So by waiting to remove or not removing players like Laughton, Seeler, TK, Sanheim, Poehling, Risto, Hathaway and others they missed out on better talent in the last two drafts.

They lucked into MM so it may not kill them. I am willing to bet that anyone in the top five from the last draft will be better than Luchanko. So they are behind by at least a year due to whatever they were trying to do the last two years. If they finish outside of the top five again what are they doing? Rebuild? Not really. Picking 6-16 is the worst place you can be.

If you are happy picking in that 6-16 range good for you. That's not where building teams pick regularly.
