Mancini, much more than a depth defenseman.

Hughes >>> Fox, it’s not even close

In your long winded explanation, you failed to mention that JT was jettisom from 3 teams prior, his last team he couldn't get along with another teammate for whatever reason. So bad they dumped him for an often injured player. Perhaps you should rethink your choice. Just because he drew up a play on the ice, doesn't mean he is a good choice for Captain

How about making your latest update of recent games on J.T. & E.P. here!

How about you among some stating IGOR isn't worth the money HE EARNS?

Igor turned this game loss it was headed to, into a win, having first made 37 SAVES on 40 SOG (i.e., a .925 SV%)*; while facing at least another 30 or more Vancouver Shot Attempts. He should have been the game's first star in turning the game's tide, because the Rangers don't win it without him also retaliating in going after Sherwood nearly halfway into the second, & drawing a standing ovation from Rangers fans in taking that roughing penalty. Otherwise, the Rangers would have had a listless performance in the 3rd, & wouldn't have scored 4 goals on just 6 SOG, of their 12 total only taken in the entire contest.

Quinn Hughes alone had 9 SOG all stopped by Igor; including a rink-length outside break-in attempt that required him at most 4 seconds to complete.

*(The updated SOG was 40-12, which still seemed lower than actual for VAN.)

By the way this team’s problem is not size on the blueline it is speed and skating ability. Especially exiting their own zone.

Speed, zone exit and neutral zone play has been an issue on this team, what seems like, forever.

That's predominantly on the offensive speaking abilities of their d'men.

When play is in their defensive end, it's their d'men being completely lost out of position the 44 feet in between the faceoff circle dots, from the goal crease on out 20 to at times 30 feet even with the top of the circles. But their coverage is worse especially from in between the circles' hashmarks from the top of the goal crease up to those hashmarks in yielding the toughest chances of any kind to first directly stop by their goalies, followed by rebound attempts.

This has to be one of the most idiotic things posted.

Not the way the rangers constructed their roster. Don’t think your best player can be your goalie and win a cup. Hasn’t happened yet in the cap era

I rather build an elite team 5v5 deep down the middle and great defensive core.

Even pre cap era Hasek had to leave the Sabres to join the juggernaut in Detroit

If they fire Lav, it will be pointless, if the new coach inherits anything close to this roster.

Agreed. Defense is big right now and it’s awful. You need both

They haven’t since AV early days have that quick transition. Torts they forechecked and played defense.

This team hasn’t had an identity in 5-7 years

The statement was a goalie cant carry a team to the Stanley Cup. Many times, come the playoffs, the teams best player is the goalie. A goalie that can steal games, has... is... and will be the difference in the playoffs.

EP 40 8 points last 5 games, Miller 2 points last 5 games, none in the last 3, pretty ugly

Defense is big? They don’t have a single guy over 215 lbs and have Zac Jones and Adam Fox????

The goalie can get hot, yes. But all season long teams who won the cup, their goalie isn’t the best player on the team. Usually it’s a center or dman.

Last 3 goalie con smythes vasi, quick ward. They had centers and a dman that typically were the focal point of the team

But I get what you’re saying as well
