Speaking of helmets. Why does nobody use this? Extra protection and more stuff for a puck to hit.

New masks are longer than before so it's not as needed but I belive it's mostly because it's still somewhat annoying to wear as it dangles around when you more your head.

Not that I was really good, but I never noticed it when I played goalie. I guess that makes sense. I just always found it weird that nobody copied Roy. I understand why nobody copied Brodeur (last man standing) or Hasek (I broke my hip), but Roy was the first successful butterfly goalie and his equipment was iconic.

Yeah, I’m not one that’s sold on Reinbacher yet. So not sure how much of an upgrade that’s going to be. Excited for Demidov though. I agree we desperately need a second line centre next year.

Can the guy play 1 game in the NHL before we sell him ?

Laine, Dach, Newhook... not sure they will all be back next season.
Dach probably since he has no value, but the other 2 I'm not sure.

willing to bet they are all back for next season

the flyers announcers were suckling laine. they claimed he was like ovechkin on the PP. then they realized how dumb that sounded and walked it back but still claimed that he wasn't that far from ovechkin on the PP.

while Ovechkin is obviously miles away a better player, it's true that Laine is pretty efficient on the PP and generally shoots from the same spot that Ovi does.

that's what they started out saying. that he has the same spot.

but they just gushed too much and had to walk it back a little when they really though about how deadly ovechkin has been from that spot. it's brian boucher and he's just very hyperbolic. i feel like he does better when he does national games than he does announcing flyers games.

i still like him. i'd take him. but the flyers pick should be pretty high since they suck the ass so i can't do that pick.

yeah well even on the PP Laine wasn't very effective last night, that's for sure, he just kept missing the (frank)ing net lol. but he does have a laser of a shot and is a nice weapon to have in that specific situation, if it wasn't for this specialty he'd barely have anything left to his game.

Laine with Tortorella would've been hilarious.
