If that's the case no thanks, that will also place him above Suzuki
- habs88888

yep, but eventually they'll have to pay some guys more than Suzuki. Hutson could be the first.

I would rather have Tavares than Bennett for 2-3 years

As much as we say every game lately is the most important, game against FLA tomorrow is the biggest one, win that one (tall task) and with the rest of the schedule easier we are still in good shape. Give Dobes the start which will remind him of his first NHL matinee win against FLA a few months ago

Well are they closer to winning the Cup than the Habs in the next few years? He gave Toronto a chance as a hometown boy and it didn't work out

well yeah, they're alot closer.
Habs could maybe make the playoffs 2 years from now. maybe.
their window is more in 3-5 years imo, when kids (Demidov, Hutson, Reinbacher, Fowler...) have a few seasons of experience.
TOR are a better team this year. the coach they needed, and 2 good acquisitions at the tdl. they need to build on that to become a legit contender.

Habs should make the playoffs next year if Hughes shops for a good 2C this summer and bring in a top 4 RHD

You know what?

I don’t really buy into the logic that the tank is empty.

These guys are professional athletes, not beer leaguers in a 3 day tourney.

If they can’t get motivated this close to a playoff spot, then what is it?

Coaching??

not a question of motivation imo, they simply don't have any energy left!
and don't start me on coaching lol

because yes, their d system is very demanding on the energy level. once they get the puck back they have to change cause they're out of breath. difficult to forecheck and create offense under these circonstances.

Pete, you need to convince the habs to hire Fido, he knows what's up.

All they do is eat well, sleep, and god damn exercise.

How in the h can they have no energy?

because they're not talented enough to play at 80% and win.
to win, they need to play at 110% (like they did in that stretch in December). remember how well they were forechecking? we don't see that anymore.
so yes, they can do that for awhile, but eventually they get tired. The 4 Nations break gave them some jump, but it is obvious that it's now over.
still a good season for a young team.

Doesn't it apply somewhat to other teams as well? They already brought in Laine and Carrier which is supposed to help. I think the main issue is the injuries otherwise we will be where OTT is now
