I'd be curious to see if he'd do better than this 5 on 5 if he was paired with better players on his line but yeah, he's a PP specialist for sure.

I had to google him lol... just realized he used to be an NHL backup goalie and played in Philly, that's why the name rang a bell.

at 8.5M per he's supposed to be the best player on his line, not the other way around

a bit like deadpoulet is saying though, Laine isn't a player who'll make other guys around him better, he's more of a complement to his line.

but I agree he should be making himself more noticeable than this beyond the power play, paired with good players or not.

He has one year left on that deal. He will have to take a pay cut on his next deal, in mtl or elsewhere.

We knew he was not a 8.5M player anymore when we got him. But we also knew he only had 2 years left on that deal

I think Demidov with Laine will be fun to watch next season.

They just have to figure out who will play as the C. They are stuck with Dach but he is not the anwser.

he isn't a guy that can be relied on anymore for that role, that's for sure. I mean, he could make a comeback and play at a much higher level as we've seen from him at times before, but Hughes can't bet on that, he needs to look elsewhere.

I feel Dach will find his mojo once he gets back on the wing.
