I wouldn't make the decision based on salary. It has to be earned on merit or factored.
Like if we play Tampa, both goalies have actually played quite well against Tampa - Woll is 2-0 with a .915 save percentage; Stolarz is 1-0 with a .941 save percentage. If we play Florida - Stolarz has been abysmal at 0-2 with an .854 save percentage; Woll hasn't played them yet, so I'd think we should start him April 2nd and the 8th.
See if one goalie suits playing against a specific team's style more.
Just observationally I like how Stolarz is bigger and tough to get pucks by in tight, but in the in-crease scrambles because he's so long, he opens up allowing pucks under him in the 5 hole more. I think Woll is a better scrambler down low - but I also think Woll gives up too many uncontrolled rebounds. As long as our defense is going to play like they have been it's going to tough on either them because the D hasn't been moving bodies, hasn't been protecting the net front, hasn't been blocking the seam and has also been bad on gap control leaving guys with too much space and room to shoot.
The other argument is that while he was injured Stolarz has started 27 games and Woll has started 37. All of that is to say that if I were asked today who to start in the playoffs . . . I don't know who I'd pick. After his last two games it would probably be Stolarz - but that's an emotional reaction based on Woll's last two starts.
The last consideration is that Stolarz has had 55.6% of his starts against playoff teams while Woll has had 47.4% of his starts against playoff teams. Stolarz has had the harder path and put up better numbers. - Monkeypunk
Yeah, I think it’s still an open question. Unfortunately it’s not currently a situation of choosing between two guys both playing lights out. They’ve both fallen back a bit and it would be great to see one or both turn it back on.

Yeah the keep away that is necessary in 3 on 3 gets old. I would also do 10 min 5 on 5.
I never hated ties myself. Just seems like a necessary thing in a violent game. Otherwise you have a gimmick finish, cause you can't do endless OT in season obviously. Baseball can do extra innings. Hockey and football and soccer need ties if they don't want gimmicks. - Zezel
No way they go to 10 minutes anything |

would you rather be Ovy, 1 cup and alltime goal record or Sid, 3 cups? - senstroll
I think they're both pretty happy. I'd rather be Kane and punch some bumholes, get accused of R, win 3 Cups and other hardware and get paid the big bucks but not need to be the very best.
Also Crosby would be happier because of the fact that they won internationally. OV probably regrets that his defense on Russia had Markov at 36 and Gonchar at 39 or whatever as their best guys vs a prime Weber/Doughty etc. |

Another Gretzky record popped!!
Crosby passes him with 20 ppg seasons.
Unbelievable - Fakepartofme
Unbelievable. He's really something.
I think the goal records are sacred like the HR records. both season and career. It's incredible Ovi will break the career record given the era he played in. I can't see anyone ever scoring 93 in a season though. |

Gavin McKenna will score 95 goals in the 90 game season of 2030 when they cut goalie equipment back and increase the net size. |

Oh man the standings are tantalizing these days...a Leafs vs. Habs redux or Battle of Ontario in round 1 is possible in the timestream. Or, a rematch with one of the Florida teams. Either way could be real tasty. |

This is sort of a farewell for a while. This place has become more toxic than it is worth and I don’t have any hope that the problems will be fixed any time soon. There is no willingness on the part of the site’s staff to take even the most basic steps to enforce the rules. Even attempting to politely offer some helpful advice from someone with experience moderating large forums is met with open hostility. Trolls are allowed to hijack entire forum threads off the rails with political diatribes, and red pill copy-pasta is a daily occurrence that is tolerated with a flippant attitude towards enforcement of the basic rules of decorum. Repeat violators are allowed to run rampant with impunity and the onus of moderation is placed on the members who are expected to do the moderators’ jobs for them.
This site is a defacto “nazi bar” and I am frankly done with it. Until poop changes for the better, I am gone. I came here to talk about hockey and not read a transcript of the latest Infowars show. If any of the cool people here want to keep in touch and talk Leafs hockey, then look me up on Mastodon. Of course, this will probably get deleted. Or, worse, it will probably be ignored and nobody will care. That’s the world we live in now.
Peace out and go Leafs! - GalacticStone

If the Leafs go out in the first round I might have to take a long break from everything. I’ll curl up in a fetal position and stay there until next fall. |

Couldn't disagree more; 3 on 3 is HORRIBLE to watch.
The keep away bs where teams skate into the O-zone, look around, and decide to skate out and regroup is (frank)ing frustrating to watch.
Here's what should be done:
- Eliminate the shootout
- 5v5 for 10 mins
- 0 points for a tie
- 3 points for a win (*** regulation wins should also be worth 3pts) - mjones242
yo cray cray, 3v3 is awesome. |

I'm reviving the white trash country classics lately - onion soup mix dip, cream of mushroom soup pork chop, shake n bake. The fianzé grew up country trash too so we're into it.
