You can't take Trump's words literally. He does not need another California to join US, he is playing some games, putting pressure on some politicians, but I don't believe for a second he was seriously considered to make Canada 51st State. - alex.TML
More 4-D chess from Trump? When authoritarians tell you what they’re going to do, you’re crazy if you don’t take them seriously.

What I don’t like about the Blue Jays. Their president
Their general manager
Their manager
Their starting lineup
The age of their starting staff
Other than that, all is well

I really didn’t want to respond…
Literally the first post is someone trying to gang up on one person with a different view and have him silenced on this platform
I have said numerous times that Trump is the weakest part of his cabinet, but still way better than any Democrat option

correct me if I am wrong. doesnt Free speech protect you from the government and not people just calling you out for stuff and thinking someone is a moron and not wanting to see their nonsense anymore?
you will also need to hate trump then, he is a giant bully. - senstroll
Free speech is not just the First Amendment - it's a fundamental principle of freedom.
Having said that, free speech does not protect you against consequences and there are limiting principles associated (e.g. calling for violence/genocide, libel/slander) - albeit, "absolutists" will argue that these limiting factors should not exist.
I always think of Christopher Hitchens' wonderful speech on this topic (which took place in Toronto!):

Hope you are feeling better and doing well. - Fakepartofme
Notably better, going to target some work, and I’m already playing live music again which is under the table. Got nabbed for studio time last Saturday pretty quick by other musicians and a lot of engineers have already touched base telling me how happy they are that I’m playing regularly again and how I should expect to get used a lot. I’m turning out to be similar, recorded for a guy I never met, had just a simple comp recording he did without a bass for a week ahead, and I slammed out a bass line I wrote in 20mins and they all loved it.

It's always funny when people are freely expressing themselves in a public medium about how there's no free speech.
I always thought free speech was that you could have a tattoo or stuff on your phone or have participated in campus demonstrations and you couldn't get kidnapped by the government. - Zezel
