Vaak and Soucy are not 3rd or 4th slot pairings, 5/6 at best. - Brukie
I meant on the left side, not overall. To be more precise, they can share the 6th/7th defenseman spot on this team. |

We have our Cole Caufield in Panarin. Small undersized skill forward. Don’t need 2 of them come playoffs, probably don’t even need 1 come playoffs - nyrangers9479
To be fair to Tj, we dont know how Caufield will play come playoff time. He may show some grind and grit. Until we see a few playoff games under his belt, I will reserve judgement.
We know Panarin has neither nor does he exhibit any back check whatsoever which is desperately needed in the playoffs. |

Soucy just looks like a big lanky guy out there, plays down to his size, not physical just like KA Miller. |

They need to gut the entire left side of the D, but I can live with Soucy/Vaak sharing the load as the 3rd pairing dman on the left side for now.
But this team desperately needs a ssholes.
If the rest of the league isnt complaining about stuff our players are doing, then were doing something wrong. |
|
|
|
So Im guessing resigning Panarin is an absolute no-go for you since Gabe will be here. - aecliptic
Yup, he should be moved in the off-season or deadline next year. Also have Berard, but not as much of an issue bc of the way he plays |

Tough to play physical when chasing the puck carrier with man-to-man D. Anyone notice the Trouba-train hits declined drastically when the D went to man-to-man? |

You guys realize that Kakko’s season on Seattle is not miraculous, it probably in a full season equals out to the 40 point season he had with the Rangers in 2022-23 - jimbro83
He’s on pace to have a 52 pt season in SEA. Would be a career high for him. |

Its particularly difficult to play man to man when your d-men arent particularly fast skaters. |

As Ive said before, his points/60 is the same as it was in NY. If Kakko was getting 17+ minutes a game here, he'd have the same point total. |

The thing with this team is, we have all the pieces offensively to have one of the better teams in the league. However it seems that as the years have gone on, its been separating like oil and water.
Down the middle... Miller, Zib, Trocheck should be one of the most formidable, defensively reliable and best faceoff triplets in the league. But I just dont understand wtf is going on with this squad. |

It looks like he forgot how to play defense, he’s a -11 out there
He also has 21 games out of 41 with nothing. Not much has changed as far as consistency.
Middle six wingers are the easiest players to find to fill out a roster. He simply didn’t do enough to stay on the rangers and people can’t let it go lol and never will I imagine yay! |

More minutes, means more opportunity to get scored on. Seattle is also not a particularly good team. You want to applaud Borgen for being a +6 here, when he was a -13 on Seattle. |

20 games of nothing. Boom. Inconsistency.
I think you should be a kraken fan. They got poop going in the right direction out there. Big tall dmen and everything. Oleksiak is like 6’10 I think |

The rangers aren’t a good team either. Borgen being a +6 is actually impressive |

Maybe so, but they dont give up as many goals as the Kraken do.
Also, there have been many debates about how +/- is an overrated stat. |

They could trade Shesty for a 6th round pick and you’d be touting Drury as a genius. You refuse to admit flaws |

Don’t deflect or anything.
Kakko has 19 games when he got a pt in Seattle, 21 where he hasn’t. It’s the same thing he did here lol inconsistency.
Funny you say that…one move that no one even brings up is my least fav decision he’s made..letting Vatrano go. Because that was cheap and he was worth it

Laffy had 57 points last year and he was the second coming of Christ and he was playing with Panarin and KK is on pace for 52 points this season with the Kraken yet he is a bust?

Oh man 52 pts That not even an all star trajectory, yet
This hill you’re dying on is silly. And it’s not like we don’t have wingers younger than he is to take over now. Othmann and Perrault I betcha have a 52 pt season eventually |
