My kid brother came over with a generator he had and rigged up the essentials - furnace, tankless hot water heater, fridge, wifi and TV.

We’ve been renting our water heater since we bought our house 15 years ago. It’s like $20 a month so it was just whatever no issues. We were away in Mexico and a line burst but my mom was here with our kids so she saw it and was able to shut the water off. Long story short is they replaced it for free and all that but the new one sucks. Can’t have 1 shower with constant hot water. Tech came out and said they replaced it with a smaller tank. Reliance is saying it’s the same size blah blah. Either way I’m just ticked because I just want a hot shower.

Yeah, you just have to run your shower in the morning for a minute.

You can run a shower for 4 hours or more, and never run out of hot water.

So we had a guy out last week to make sure we could go no tank and he said the older models were 30 seconds to warm up. Newer ones are about 6-7 seconds. He said showers and all that aren’t a big deal just if you’re wanting to wash hands while cooking you had to wait a few seconds.

I forgot to ask if we can run everything at once and my wife was ticked because apparently that was the only question I had to ask.

We have 3 showers, 2 tubs, 2 dishwashers and laundry. Sometimes just the way it goes they can all be running at the same time. We have 4 kids so its only going to get worse.

You can run a shower for 4 hours or more, and never run out of hot water.

You’d get run off the island if you did that here - at least in the summer. Water rates pretty much double in the summer.
