Its exhausting honestly. The same fans that rip the team for "bad development" want this kid thrown in the frying pan and when he struggles, which he will, he is 19, he'll be branded a bust and here we go again.
And these last 8 games mean nothing for next season (unless he is lights out which is unlikely). We should all expect him to start in HTFD. - Blueshirts4ever
Yea you said this already. Like a half hour ago. What's with you people who want to be mad about things that haven't happened yet? You complain about negativity by preemptively being super negative. I think most of us here have reasonable expectations for the kid... How about we talk about what our expectations are and that way you can calm your tits about these people that haven't called him a bust yet |
|

|
I think he'd cost more than he's worth just because he's young and on a cheap long term contract. Presumably they see him as a core piece over there. - picklerick
Chicago seems to be a bit messy. You can already see Anaheim and even SJ moving in the right direction. I know Chicago has promising prospects that aren't in the NHL yet so I guess we will see. |

Thing is if I give my expectations Brukie will laugh at me and it will start a fight. I’m gonna keep my expectations to myself thank you very much! |

I think the coaching has been so bad this season, especially with what’s going on with this defense, which points to Housley but also Laviolette, a former defenseman himself I don’t know how much blame is put on the players vs the coaching. |

LOL...I guess you don't know sarcasm when you see it. My tits are calm, I'm having a little fun with our fickle fan base. Don't you know nobody hates the NYR more than NYR fans?
Reasonable expectations for the kid in my opinion is he gets solid minutes with Laf and Miller, shelter him a bit for d-zone starts. We see flashes of the skill but will likely be overwhelmed and the kid has a positive experience and some confidence going into training camp. Then let his camp performance dictate where he starts next season.
Does this post suit you better? |

As always a combination of both. The telling thing is that it unravels for Laviolette after his first year like Gallant. |

Ok well I think that just seeing Perreault playing will be enough for most of us to feel some sense of hope. Unless he gets hurt or plays the worst game of all time.
As for Emery. I think it's reasonable to wonder how it's possible to tally a single assist in 31 games while playing big minutes while also being encouraged by the defensive side of his game. More than reasonable. One would HAVE to assume they try and help him unlock a little more offense next season without compromising what makes him special. To the extent there are people who just see the assist and say "wow what a turd. we should've drafted x,y, or z", those people are called morons and don't really deserve a time or energy |

I know for a fact that Dolan loves Torts and they talk frequently to this day.
I actually saw Darren Dreger say this in one of those 4 man conversations talking about what happened with the Flyers and Torts and he said that he would not be suprised if Torts gets one more shot with the Rangers because of the Dolan factor. |

I think Perrault will be the best of the bunch we have. Granted that may not be saying much currently lol but PPG player and one of those guys on the ice at the end of a close game |

I didn’t think Gallant’s last Ranger season was bad at all. Just a very very bad series vs the Devils.
But that was out chaos with the whole Patrick kane situation among other things.
I thought Gallant got a raw deal getting canned when he did to be honest.
Laviolette deserves to go. No debate on that one. |

That's true, I forgot about all that chaos. He did coach them to a 100 point season. Remember when the Laf-Mika-Kakko line saved his job? That was fun. |

I have a hunch Panarin only has 8 more games in a NYR jersey. It’s only a gut feeling. No insider info or anything lol |

I was at the game when they had the cap concern and kept two players on the bench the whole game, I think one was Schneider, to have enough cap space to get Kane, and then Kandre got tossed early in the game.
That was nuts
K’andre has taken several step backs since Lavi-Housley arrived |

Both. The LW dilemma is real now. Perrault is on LW (per daily faceoff). |

I think the other was Ryan Carpenter? I'm in the minority it seems that doesn't want to give up on K Miller, but whatever. I'm not sure anything would surprise me going forward. |

It’s mind boggling he can’t see they are so good on the pk cause they play zone but he refuses to change the man to man defense 5v5. And he wonders why the defense never improves lol |

Mercogliano later posted that Perreault was skating more as the LW and Laf on the RW. |
