Classy move by OV to avoid going for the ENG. Let their next golden boy get his first goal in his first game. Nice night for the Caps and their fans. How lame is it that he will likely break the record in a matinee game on the Island? |

Torts
According to team sources, the veteran coach had developed a ritual of singling out individual players for public criticism in front of teammates, demanding they write their perceived weaknesses on a whiteboard before having other players vote on whether they deserved to be in the lineup.
“What started as typical Torts intensity evolved into something the players felt was designed to humiliate rather than motivate,” explained a source close to several veteran players. “The final straw came when he allegedly told players that family photos would be removed from their lockers if they didn’t meet certain performance metrics in the upcoming game against Montreal.”
Multiple sources claim he arrived with a stack of personal text messages that had been exchanged between players discussing team matters, reading them aloud while questioning player loyalty. While the organization has not confirmed how Tortorella obtained these messages, the breach of privacy allegedly sent shockwaves through the locker room

Everyone is so quick to blame the coach is these situations.
The truth is, the coach has to remain in control, and the players have to fear him. When there’s a players stepping out of line, he needs to assert himself in charge. As a manager I deal with this often. If you give them an inch, they take a mile and the next thing you know you got a full blown mutiny on your hands. The world has gone soft. With HR and other things becoming too worker/player biased, it takes away power from the person in charge.

Nowadays, so many companies have 3rd party certification requirements. One of the things an auditor does is interview the employee and ensure they are treated properly. If not, certifications get revoked and those responsible are often fired. |

If you believe this you simply dont know how lead a team. Fear has nothing to do with leading or getting anyone to follow you....sounds very maga of you.
These arent pirates on a ship....you are not a captain on the high seas fighting for life and death. Just someone who sounds like you let a little power and privilege go to your head. |

Is anyone really surprised the person who was on here a week ago bragging about getting someone fired (because they dared to complain to HR) is now saying to be a boss you have to be a bumhole and use fear to intimidate people to keep them in line?
Delusional bumholes are what they are.
We are in the presence of one as it relates to several topics, obviously including effective leadership.

Never said those things aren’t.
Fear is the greatest motivator. Consequences for your actions. People will push you when you’re the boss and you need to set an example and establish rules. You have absolutely no clue what you’re talking about. |
