It's the low hanging fruit, if he's not happy with a deal like that and he wants to go to market to try to maximize value, he should be told to (frank) all the way off right there. We need players with some heart and character who want to be here and win here.

With all the financial uncertainty, maybe there is a chance Mitch sees the writing on the wall regarding the cap likely flattening out.

Willy, JT Matthews all scoring at will on the PP and the whole PP unit moving the puck around very quickly vs the old “give it to Marner and let his skate around slow as molasses to try and set up a perfect goal / tap in” has rally made a difference.
