K'Andre had a great game last night if he was being showcased for a summer trade

We all think these massive changes will happen. What happens if they do change management etc and the new powers that be think with small tweaks that would be enough? We have seen in the past what we think will happen most likely won’t. This offseason could go in so many different ways. Almost impossible to project

If that is the plan they better hold onto the 2026 pick

I think just narrowing the conversation down to K'Andre himself, it seems to be the time to deal him or sign him long term, one or the other

Team has too many players, so some tough decisions need to be made. Edstrom will reclaim a spot, Parssinen has looked good recently, Berard deserves to be a regular, Rempe improving, Perreault needs to be in the top 6, unfortunately Othmann hasn’t done enough with his ice time, Roobroeck knocking on the door. You’re right, legitimately everything is on the table.

1 or 2 free agents signings to address the lack of toughness in the top 6 could go a long way. One of the reasons the Brodzinski Rempe Carrick line is so affective is bc they go to the net and shoot the damn puck.

Few times this year I’ve said they should put Rempe in the top 6. Not bc I think he’s a top 6 player, but bc I think he would force some of these free loaders to act like they give a damn.

Frederic Jeannott are 2 that come to mind, not necessarily a top 6 role for Jeannott, but Fredric Cuylle Miller? Hmmmm

I would not be surprised at all if Perreault sees significant time in Hartford next season

If it’s me I am trading Kreider and zib any way you can. Also shopping panarin hard cause he can bring back the most value and open up cap space. Will move Miller if they have a plan to get a legit top pairing LHD

Yea that’s fair. Hopefully he’s learning what he needs to do to make it in this league and comes to camp ready to take a spot.

I agree completely. Now your returning “star forwards” need to be Miller, Cuylle, and hopefully Laf if he can bounce back. Seems a little light unless there’s a big signing like Boeser.

I want to see a season of Key under different coaching. Housley has been a disaster for him from the start.

I dont understand why K'Andre stopped hitting, 2022-23 season he averaged 2 hits per game, now barely per 1 hit per game

also, last season, K'Andre had 34 giveaways, this year, 96 giveaways

The man to man dzone system doesn’t work bc our defenseman are slow and the fwds hate playing any defense. Need a new system/coach and to move the core. I really don’t want Drury involved in any of it. He (frank)in lost

If that’s the case I’ll probably take a season or two off. Don’t have enough free time these days

That’s what I’m saying. I don’t think he’ll ever be a top pair guy, but he and Schneider on paper should be a solid 2nd pair. Give him to the deadline and if he’s still a turnover machine, send him on his way. At the same time, if there’s a one for one swap this offseason where they’re not selling low I would be fine with that too.

a 2 year bridge for K'Andre takes him to UFA in 2027

I don't really like that idea, I don't like the idea of signing him long term either

I lean towards preferring a trade at this point because I still believe his value is fairly high

This is just the fallout from the Trouba nonsense. No way Drury didnt get fired if he didnt have the Ok from Dolan.

Im sure Messier is going to apply for the head coaching job.

- Brukie

Or GM, I think that was the position he wanted.

That's more than one per game, and he missed a few games!
At this point I don't know what to do with him. Hate to give up on him but he's definitely regressed. Do we chalk it up to the whole team giving up on the season and give him a two year deal?

everybody talks about the man to man defense but that doesn't explain all the giveaways

I’m giving him a 5 year deal if he’d take 5-6 mil per

And, shockingly (or, perhaps not that much so) that has him tied with Panarin and Schneider for the most on the team. Tied for 49th most in the league, btw. As horrible as 96 giveaways sounds, Weegar had 156 to lead the league!!!!!!

yeah with Panarin that's the norm for him, always trying to make offensive plays in offensive zone

but K'Andre such a drastic change from where he was pre-Housley

.

Miller has terrible hockey IQ and fundamentals. A lot of the players did this year but his is probably the worst on the back end

Panarin will bc he has the puck and creates. Schneider and miller are just 5/6 dmen on contenders. Schneider is solid bottom pair but probably the most overrated player on the team

I'm definitely still comfortable with giving Schneider another shot to prove he's top 4 worthy considering he's only making 2.2 mil next year

but its definitely a big crossroads right now with K'Andre where he was making 3.8 mil and will be looking for a raise long term
