This reminded me of a playoff game - Habs circled the wagons and gave very little space to work with. It's kryptonite for the Leafs.

Except we doubled them in shots, and won. So there's that.

I was admiring the standings in the National Hockey League just now; the Atlantic division in particular. It's beautiful.

My buddy is beating me in the championship of our H2H fantasy pool that's been going on for 15 years, and a Stolarz shutout for him might be the dagger. But I won it last year, and both of us our Leaf fans who eliminated arch nemesis Jets and Sabres fans to get this far.

That same buddy is in a keeper baseball league with those guys, and he dropped Mike Trout early in his career and he was picked up by the Rain Man of our fantasy leagues. How Leafy is that.

Thanks for reading my share.

I thought the flow of play was a little more even than the shots would indicate, but still, yeah the Habs had what like 8 shots halfway through the game? And Toronto was on the PP because the Habs had to take penalties.

Yes, they won. Huzzah!

I would argue that, despite the lopsided shot disparity, the game was a lot closer in terms of high danger chances. The Habs have also struggled mightily getting any shots on net the last few games, so there's that.

Stolarz managed to bail the boys out on a couple of very sloppy errors and the Habs managed to hem the Leafs into their own zone on multiple occasions.

Not awe-inspiring stuff. Happy with the win - will be VERY nice to lock up the division - but at no point did I feel victory was assured nor impressed by the Leafs effort overall.

TML are going to have to figure out how to play in tight spaces and get some dirty wins in the playoffs to make a run of it. They certainly are a more gritty bunch this year, just need the big guns to figure their post-season poop out.

I’m going to be a little late. Masters Sunday finish comes first. Unless it was a playoff game for the leafs then that would come first.

I'm encouraged by the idea we've seen a few similar close tight games and come out on the right side. Good teams find a way to win.

History suggests glass should be half empty but finding the positives just to be brutally crushed in a few weeks is the passion that unites us all.

Gosh, I love the Master so much, but haven't watched in almost a decade since I got rid of cable/satellite. Wish Sportsnet would pick up golf so I could watch on Plus.
