To me Lavy is the smoking gun with all the problems, and not so much Drury. I’m trying to be rational and believe that we do have SOME happy players - Slimtj100
Drury is absolutely part of the problem. There should be no question. Does not mean others aren’t to blame too |

You and rational are never used in the same sentenced.
Nobody on this team should be happy or content, they missed the playoffs. |

Probably his last season unless Dolan is smart and does not let him hire another coach. Not everyone is miserable but way too many problems. Where there is smoke there is fire. Starts at the top

They’re pissed off about being scratched lol what does Drury have to do with that?
I believe in Chris Drury and the direction of the team. I don’t know what to tell you and yes I realize I’m a lunatic!! (A name ok to use I assume) |

So you believe in the guy, that’s built this roster 5 years into his tenure as GM, that just missed the playoffs? |

A roster that wasn’t good enough and needed to be blown up. Two key moments stuck out to me where he probably got fed up and thought he needed to blow the roster up…
one was - up 2-0 vs NJ and losing that series
and last year vs Florida.
Being angry at those players (the leadership) losing to NJ, and realizing how they couldn’t win with this team after the Panther series.
He’s building a team you will jizz over which is the most ironic part. It’s just going to take some time for it to happen.
What I really think happen this year is the NYR leadership was/is being shown the door (based on those two playoff series), and it’s become public. Because it’s NY and fans like you guys can’t wrap your head around that. This season was doomed from the start, which is what I meant by indirectly tanking this season…and in order to move forward this season needed to happen |

After reading the mixed bag of comments, there are some good things mentioned. Like most, if not all, so glad this clownish nightmare of a season is about to end. People are only going to be as good as the leaders above you. Starting with Drury, I don't feel he made bad deals. His issue is HOW he handles things. Don't let certain things go public and handle things better professionally. With Lavy, he is not what this team needs...now. What baffles me is one year ago, he led this team to the best record in franchise history, and with the roster this year mostly the same crew, what happened? But when you admit you don't go into the locker room when the team is struggling mightily, then perhaps this is not the proper leader with these types of players. In fact, the only coach that I would consider retaining of the group would be Peca. With the players, there is a responsibility that is on them. The fact Lavy did not hold those vets accountable at times is on him. This team needs someone to do this when needed. For everyone else that is not in their first two years, you have been around the game and know what it takes to win. Puck watching is on you. You should know better. And passing the puck 47 times on a PP with no shots is inexcusable. This team looks for the perfect pass and it seems that only worked about 5% of the time. I don't know how much of an overhaul I would do, but I think it may be a time for change for people like Kreider and Zib. I agree more should speak out like de Haan. I have no issue with anything he said. I would be unhappy riding a bench for most of the time if I was in his skates. Why did you trade for him then? Laf is another mystery. You sign a contract extension than go AWOL for the rest of the year? If he is not moved over the summer, then I would monitor him the first third of next season and make a decision then if needed. K'Andre Miller and Adam Fox need to bulk up some. Fox also needs to gain more speed. I think this team is not too far away and with the right coach, leadership and players added, I think they can bounce back to be a good team next season. Yes, I know the 4-year pattern back from 1994 with them winning the cup in similar way as it would be nice to follow suit, but one step at a time. Let's have a better structure and at least get to the playoffs. A win for Sam Thursday would also be nice to send him off that way. Thanks Jan for another phenomenal year of great reads here. Always enjoy your posts. |

Wifi is a 3rd pairing defenseman. Sure hes big, tough and fun to watch because of all the mayhem he causes. However, hes not a particularly good defenseman, my understanding is his skating is very underwhelming and he takes a lot of penalties. So pick your poison there. |

I still think the rangers could end up with Matheson, to be paired with Fox. Mtl has quite a few defensman coming and already playing |

Matheson is ok, but hes more of an offensive guy and was their PPQB before Hutson exploded. A veteran like him could be good to pair with Schneider, but I dont think pairing with Fox would be the right move. |

I’d take him any day of the week for the 3rd pair. Then I’d double down and get Hague for the 2nd pair. |

When something truly awful finally happens to Chytil all of these types of responses that are given with each new concussion should be archived and ready to go. Everyone who ever played a part in this should go down, from his days as a ranger to now |

End of the day Chytil is a grown man. He’s making the decision to play, that’s on him. The risks and warnings are out there, it’s up to him, no one else. Look at Mike Sauer, 1 concussion and he called it a career. No one to blame but himself if he continues to play. |

This Kaden Guhle is taking over the game tonight. This is what we need from Kandre |

Guhle is very good. Hague, RFA, VGK tight on the cap maybe looking to move him. I’d love it. An ideal defense for me, and IDC if people say it sucks, blah blah blah.
Miller Kesselring
Hague Schneider
Xhekaj Borgen
I’d send Fox to Utah for Kesselring++ |

Doctors for what? I’m sure they’ve informed him what repeated concussions will do to him long term. How is it on them? |
