I guess an overall decent outcome…MM with a two goal game, Forester gets his 25th and they still land on 4th Overall. |

100%…clean house. Michkov missing with 2 seconds left….probably gets him a good young talented C to play with. Best miss of his career yet. |

We all know likely SEA or BUF will win the lottery, but the Flyers had to get the job done and secure 4th. |

I'm okay if Ferschweiler is the next HC. Very good chance he brings in his own coaching staff and leaves no holdovers. Briere and/or Jones will already have some relationship with the next HC. Ferschweiler has no connection to the Flyers, other then playing a year with Jones in college. I would applaud an out of the box hire like him.

They just need new voices….and they need to have a big off season and a very , very big draft. They have some good young players….and they have a kid that is an elite talent….they have to add this summer…but not another Hayes type signing….go young and talented….you have some solid vets….time to build up..
I don’t know enough about Ferschweller…but that’s the type of guy they should look to. |

4th pick really opens up what DB can do with the other picks, use them, get another pick in the lower teens, add a roster player if you have to, one that makes you worse next season, all in tank in 2026, the following season have McKenna, 3 years of MM, and other firsts from 2024, 25 a couple years older |

Good night for the Flyguys!! The only two untouchables (Foerster and Michkov) on their roster had good nights and they still came away with the 4th overall pick! Kudos! |

Assuming we dont move back. Luck hasnt been on the flyers side. Even when we moved up that 1 time, we ended up with nothing

Draft order chances -
1) 9.5%
2) 9.5%
3) 0.3%
4) 15.4%
5) 44.6%
6) 20.8%
We’ve gotta temper our expectations of a top 4 pick.
The most important part of finishing with the 4th worst record is that you can’t do worse that 6th. We really didn’t wanna be scratching our heads at 8 hoping someone will fall or wondering if taking a shot at McQueen is the right move. Nice talent from what I’ve dug up, but 2 back injuries already.
We got a 19% chance at Schaefer or Misa. Hell, that means we have a better chance at one of them than whomever we’re thinking at 4. But we have to accept that there’s a 65.4% chance we draft 5 or 6.
The worst case scenario is ending up with someone like Frondell, O’Brien, or Desnoyers. Fine by me.
Or god forbid they Flyer it up and go off board for a traditional and antiquated Philly type. |

Honestly, nobody is lock step with their picks after Schaefer and Misa being the top 2 in no particular order. Schaefer probably goes 1 unless Chicago wins the lottery. They have a full cupboard of young defensemen, so Misa fits their needs.
This draft class could go in almost any direction after those two are off the board.
There could very well likely be some sliders and risers. |

That's makes no logical sense at all! Where did you get that info? I'm thinking 44% to get the 4th pick and 20% for the 5th pick, and the 15% for the 6th pick. Again, simple logic here. |

Tankathon, my friend.
The odds are all calculated for you
It’s not finishing 5th. It’s picking 5th. I put out the odds for you to see |

A bit strange that you have way higher odds of moving back than moving up one spot. You even have better chances moving up to first overall. I’m not sure what the rationale is. |

You’re right that it sounds crazy, but when 16 teams get tickets to ascend 10 spots, the percentages of not staying with your slot are gonna drop. If they shortened it to less teams, that would help, but they don’t wanna do that.
They try to amend this by not being able to ascend twice in three years or something. |

If anyone knows how they have a 0.3% chance at 3rd, I’d be curious to know what’s required.

Oh, wait. Here’s the rule -
A team cannot win the NHL Draft lottery more than twice in a five-year span. The rule, implemented starting with the 2022 lottery, aims to prevent teams from repeatedly improving their draft position through lottery wins. If a team wins the lottery twice within that five-year window, they become ineligible to win the lottery for the following three years.
