So the Sens gooned it up at the end. They aren't the first team to do that. They won't be the last. Yawn.
Let them keep doing it. That isn't the way they are going to beat the Leafs. I just don't think the Leafs are going to back down or be intimidated that way.

Naw Twisty. I don't think Toronto is scared of that stuff, from the Sens at least.
The Sens lost, big. They are the team that needs to adjust. The Leafs do need to clean up the front of their net though. |

Yeah exactly. They definitely need to work on the net front toughness, and coverage. A couple goals could have been easily avoided there. Overall good game, but can play better for sure.

my thought process is why wait for an ottawa player to injure a leaf player tahts way better. put reaves in to lay a smackdown to some of the offenders to send a proactive message |

I'm concerned about the injuries also.
I would love to see them call up every goon in the organization and go head-hunting. I'd like it, just to make a point of how ridiculous the NHL has become.
I don't think escalation is going to help though.

On the contrary. I think they just showed the Sens that one of their paths to winning, rough play and intimidation, isn't going to work.
Now the Sens have to adjust.
I actually thought the Sens played better than I expected. They're a pretty good team. |

My favourite part was pointing out how much more O-zone time that the Sens had as if that was some indication that the Sens were the better team. |

Grasping at straws to say anything negative about Toronto.
He loved the BS at the end of the game because that’s Tampa’s Trademark when they are losing - as it was Boston’s before Tampa. It’s bush league and the Leafs are anything but intimidated by it or the Sens physically.
It’s actually pretty laughable. |

Interesting game. Leafs played with more discipline while Ottawa played with careless emotion. Stolarz was steady but did fumble a couple of pucks. He did outduel his Ottawa counterpart Ullmark.
Ottawa will come out in the next game and will probably score the first goal. They have to win this game, because they're not winning 4 out of 5 in the later part of the series. Leafs need to tighten up in front of their net. The Leafs look solid but not overly spectacular. The powerplay was lethal. The next game may be more of a slugfest and probably a lower scoring game.
Let's hope that the Leafs win Game 2 and put the pressure on the Sens for game 3. Then you can add Reaves to the mix and take care of the Ottawa malcontents. |

No Reevo needed.
Sens don’t have a heavyweight and the 4th line tonight for the Leafs was fantastic.
I’m not sure Reaves isn’t just insurance for injuries.
It’s crazy that the Wild have a D man making his NHL debut tonight.

Unmentioned tonight in the Marner / Nylader love / hate fest was that Scott Laughton was really good tonight and I thought JT was excellent.
Stollie definitely gets the nod for Tuesday after his game tonight.
Domi is in playoff mode and willing to do what it takes.
Robertson was good and more physical than I’ve ever seen him - he clearly wants to stick in the line up and seems willing to do what it will take which is great.
Leafs just need to tighten up defensively, especially in front of their own net.
I’m hoping Reilly scoring gets him back to the offensive d-man he’s paid to be, his defensive game isn’t great but if he can be the offensive threat he’s been in prior playoffs that would be amazing.
