You'd expect them to, but I don't know. Watching goalie interference reviews play out doesn't inspire confidence.

From a logical perspective I just can't get on board with any decision that lands at absolving a guy for using his stick carelessly. That's the entire point of the rule and where the deferal should land in a scenario where it's not clear.

A clear shot with a clear follow through is the one point of clarity where you get out of clipping someone, that is not the case here. There's an attempt, sure. But if an attempt is now a point of absolution, there's a whole new batch of careless usages of sticks now on the table as legal plays.

I'm going to ask an age old question: How long after a player releases a puck do you have to interfere / hit them? The time duration used to be extended in the playoffs and then started to become extended for some overly defensive teams during the season and now it's so insanely prolonged during the playoffs that it's nothing but interference.
