OK, so it’s OK to hit somebody with your stick if you don’t touch the puck as long as you pretend to be trying to play the puck. Got it

So stupid.

Here's a fresh idea, shut the (frank) up Gru. What has this leukemia patient accomplished that we are to endure his endless Ottawa ball gargling every intermission 🙄

Ya, makes no sense. So you can just swing your stick at a puck in a ‘shooting motion’, miss it, take someone’s head off and it’s no penalty?

I was thinking that too
them perhaps the producers have given him that assignment.

You just have to be an incredible actor to ensure it looks like you were trying to play the puck. Lol

I heard Friedman. If that's the rule, the NHL continues to be run by the dumbest of people.

Quite frankly the way Hossa's stick took out Berard's eye always sat wrong me - like the way his follow through was just so high - it always felt reckless and out of control at the time. Not intentional - I'd never accuse him of that - just so wild on the follow through that I was surprised that the NHL's decision was that any shot - no matter how wild the follow-through - is okay, as long as you're shooting the puck - is okay. Now we hear that you don't even need to play the puck to swing your stick wildly?

That seems so incongruous with rules like tapping a guy on the gloves with your stick or playing a puck outside of a trapezoid or shooting a puck over the glass.

Guy has the personality of a slice of moldy bread. Could have filled that spot with a (frank)in plant and no one would have noticed.

You should always be in control of your stick and never hit anyone in the face. The rule should change.

Some people OK one specific person is going to get upset by this, but Marner has been pretty unnoticeable tonight. Is he playing hurt or is he playing timid after getting a stick to the face?

He just seems to be doing everything to avoid body contact and it’s Cost the leafs a couple of scoring chances against them.

I’m hoping in the third period he becomes magic Mitch like we’ve seen in the regular season, but I’m not feeling overly confident in that happening

I’m calling it now OT winner Swedish god Willy

Well it’s the playoffs so time to start doing what everyone else does and engage in it.

I’ve seen Robertson and Willy throw hits and be physically engaged tonight so there is no valid excuse for him not to follow suit.
