I have no dog in the fight but I thought if a players helmet comes off they have to go directly to the bench or it’s a penalty?

Caps player loses his in one corner, follows Hab player to the other corner sans helmet to check him and only then goes to the bench.

Am I mistaken about the rule?

Of course I missed that while I went to the washroom lol

Where did his helmet go? I know he could technically go after his helmet and not return to the bench but laying out a hit or playing at all should have been a penalty. Was the hit solely his fault? If not that could be why he didn’t get called so long as he truly headed for the bench at that point? As I said though I didn’t catch it so I don’t know.

His helmet came off in the far right corner (of your looking at your TV in the Habs end when he and a Hab collided.

Helmet comes off, he makes zero attempt to get it, gets up and chases the Hab into the far left corner (going behind the net) and throws a hit in the corner. Then after the puck leaves the zone he goes to the bench.

It was so weird.

It had to be 2 minutes penalty accordingly to rules.

Yeah that’s weird as hell, should have been a penalty lol

It’s two choices. Skate to your helmet or skate to the bench. Any other direction and they get the illegal equipment minor.

That Habs / Caps series could be 2-0 Habs just as easily as they are down 2-0.

I’m far from a Habs fan but watching the way the officiating is going so far in that series feels very much like the Caps getting the “seasoned playoff team with experience” advantage over the Habs.

As Leaf fans I now you all can relate. Lol

A good buddy of mine is a Habs fan and he’s so enraged at Laine.

And I totally get why - Laine has been terrible the first 2 games.

Imagine anyone ever thinking he was even close to Matthews never mind as good or better?! lol

Caps running out of gas after 2 periods of hockey, it will not get them too far if this trend continues. The series are far from over.

Oilers broadcasters gargling Klinkberg’s balls.

“He has ice in his veins” mentioned twice in 30 seconds.

He was fantastic in Dallas in the bubble.

The just don’t even mentioned what happened after the bubble until now or dare say he was a Leaf. lol

The kings are getting the lead they need to give Edmonton the comeback that they can score with half a minute to go to amplify Edmonton’s disappointment
