Apparently when the goalie was hurt was the play stoppage when Wilson was let out of box after serving his 2 and 10 and they were booing him.

Down to just the Atlantic Division for undefeated teams.

I didn't realize that. I was absolutely stunned. It was a horrible injury to the guy . . .but the timing of releasing Wilson would make sense.

I'm sort of pulling for Edmonton, but their goaltending has been abysmal and their defense has been worse.

Again - you have Klingberg, Walman, Bouchard and Nurse in your top-4. Then you have Kulak and Emberson as the 5/6 guys. That top-4 just doesn't have any defense and neither Kulak nor Emberson are really reliable defensive defensemen. Right now Nurse might be the worst defenseman in the NHL for his contract. He doesn't provide enough offense, is poor defensively and is a liability in terms of penalties taken.

You put an AHL-calibre goalie in Pickard behind them or an inconsistent guy like Skinner in there normally . . . it's a big problem. Add in that the forwards they moved out (Holloway, Foegele or McLeod) were replaced by guys who also contribute less defensively (Skinner, Arvidsson or Podkolzin) and you recognize that this team is going out to LA or at best (for them) in the next round to Vegas or Minnesota.

I find it comical that teams use "learning" as a support system for the playoffs. Well it's a young team with no playoff experience, so everything is only going to get better from here. sure...

2017. The core, young babies, lost to the Caps in 6 games. 4 of those games went to overtime.

It's 2025 now and I can tell you all the Leafs learned from that was how not to win in the playoffs. Thats the Sens today. Learning how you don't win in the playoffs. The only way you learn to win is by actually doing it.

Coming close, playing well, over time games, out shooting teams etc is nothing more than hockeys version of the placebo effect.
