Woder health update.

Well, turns out I have bicep and rotator cuff tendinopathy in the left arm…like a severe case of tendinitis in both shoulder and bicep. Doctor Hottie prescribed Naproxin and therapy, “that will bring tears to your eyes”. I laughed and she said, “I’m not joking”.
Or, I can try Cortisone shots, but still require physical therapy and the ultrasound treatments. She’d rather avoid Cortisone shots if I can continue to handle the pain. (Enter Leafs reference here).
“Based on the swelling and inflammation I see, along with the dramatic loss of mobility, you’re in for the long haul. I hope you didn’t have any plans to go rock climbing this summer?”
Of course being the Wods I am, I tried the,“Will I be able to play the violin when this is all over?”, joke.
Yeah….same reaction as you guys.

I have a poop ton of yard work to do…egads.

I could easily see a team make a $9M offer - that's only a 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Anaheim, Boston, Calgary, Chicago, Detroit, Kings, Habs, Predators, Devils, Flyers, Penguins, Kraken, Utah.

Plenty of teams on that list will be tempted.

I view him as more of an $8m . . . but let's be realistic here - it's very hard to grasp an economy of scale when the salary is expected to grow at a never seen before rate.

Looking back to the year that Matthews was drafted, this is the rate of increase year-over-year on the salary cap:

2.7%
5.7%
2.5%
0%
0%
1.2%
1.2%
5.1% <-- We are here
7.9%
8.2%
8.4%

So what any of us thinks of $8m just isn't the same as it was and with the slow rate of increase for us, most of still think of $8m pretty similarly to how we did in 2019 - but if those cap projections remain as expected, $8m in 2019 would be $11.14m in 2027. Or to put it more in perspective: Giving a guy $8m on a long-term deal now is like getting that player for $5.75m in 2019.

So what is the new $8m?

You think you have problems?

My golf course opens tomorrow, and the weather forecast is terrible.

The NHL hinted that they will revisit the salary cap projections, in light of the ... ahem... uncertainty of the world economy and the Canadian dollar.

I don't think the a bearish attitude will affect the big clubs, but it might give some small market teams pause before making huge financial commitments.

Ours opened last week.

I played Friday. Snap hook on 1. Snap hook on 2 and finally snap hook on 3. +6 thru 3 holes. Thought about seeing if I could get my membership refunded on 4.

Fortunately I was able to turn it around but boy was it ugly early.

You think they will let me bring in a couple beers during physical therapy? If so, I’m in.

I've been playing in the indoor sims all winter. For the most part, I'm happy with my game - felt like I made some huge improvements.

Last week the outdoor range opened - I couldn't hit a ball to save my life.

Men's Opener is Saturday - I'm terrified.

I found that I go for distance on indoor sims during the winter, but out on the course I have to keep all my shots at 80% to avoid my bad misses. I just tell myself to play a big chip shot or punch with all my clubs.

Cheapest seats for tomorrow night's game: $400.

Tons of seats left - I suspect the prices will drop tomorrow afternoon.

- Atomic Wedgie

In case you were wondering, $72 USD (plus fees) gets you into tonight's Lightning @ Panthers game.

$72 USD plus fees for the Dallas game.

Need to wait, but he didn't play enough games to get consideration by the people that vote on it.

Hey shoulder in pain buddy!

I had an Xray done a few weeks ago followed by an Ultrasound on my left shoulder a couple weeks ago due to pain that ranges from 'sore' to "OMFG even moving my shoulder in the slightest has me writing in pain".

Diagnosis - Some Osteoarthritis, Tendinopathy and an added bonus of a free of charge bone spur in my left shoulder.

I've tried 'doing nothing' with it and that's nearly impossible, Advil / Tylenol / Naproxen don't' really help at all so some nights I barely sleep it's brutal.

I was given the same great news - PT but it's going to hurt. A LOT.

I haven't made a PT appointment yet, just been trying Dr. Ho's on the shoulder and it helps a bit for a bit.

I will try some PT and maybe IMS therapy because my wife tried IMS therapy on her herniated disk with nerve impingement and said immense pain during treatment but mucho relief afterwards.

Hope you find some relief!
