4:05 a.m. is the goal time.

If I leave early enough, I'll sail through Oshawa (typically the worst to drive through - east or west). But then I'll hit traffic driving into Montreal - there's a patch just west of the city where it stops being a highway - you go through a little town and it has about 5 sets of lights, and a bridge that is always backed up.

It's brutal.

Goal it to get to my daughter's apartment by 10 am. Do some light packing and dissasembly, then pick up the moving van at noon. The van needs to be back by 4 pm, which I actually did on purpose, because it will force us to move fast. She's literally moving one block south, so we can do multiple trips quickly.

Re-assemble some furniture from 5 pm to 6 pm, then drag my old, aching body into a shower for 15 minutes. Get dressed, and go to a rowdy sports bar to cheer on the Habs.

Wake up Thursday morning and drive back home - hopefully with no temptation to veer northwest to Ottawa because there is no game 6.

Oh Montreal is never fun to drive around in, we have a daughter there as well at Universite de Montréal. Thankfully she comes back here more than we need to go there lol.

Before that it was between 7-15 years ago when whichever band I was in was playing there.

I’m going to hope you get to come straight home on Thursday as well!!

Oh I don't disagree there are a lot of better places to go, I haven't been to RSB in a few years (since my friend left who used to be the GM there actually) but tomorrow it's all about convenience and being close to the rink.

I'm just surprised I could get a reservation on a game day, it's hard to get one anywhere on game day usually anywhere close to the SBA.

Actually, I'm looking at the menu:

https://www.rs.ca/menu-dinner

It's a lot more reasonable than it used to be (or maybe just the rest of downtown has caught up to them).

I still like the Keg on York as my go-to - the happy hour is great.

Silly? but would it have been easier to just fly into Montreal and get an uber to get the moving van etc? I only ask because I know a guy who flew his kid to see the game in Montreal last night via Porter and said the flight was awesome.
- Cush29

It would have been much easier, but also so much more expensive.

And my daughter is going to be bringing home stuff for the summer, so it's nice to be able to pack the SUV and hit the road.

I'm actually doing the math right now: 30 minutes to Billy Bishop, let's say 40 minutes to clear security, board, 1:20 flight, 20 minutes to deboard, 40 minutes in Uber. So about 3:30 door to door.

That's only going to save me about 1:30 to 2 hours.

5-10 to clear security. Board.

It’s fast. I fly out of YTZ often. I know so many Porter pilots.

Ah makes sense, wasn't sure if you lived in the city or not and could take advantage of the UP express to Pearson but bringing home a car load will make it easier later for sure.

From Last Blog:

Woder health update.

Well, turns out I have bicep and rotator cuff tendinopathy in the left arm…like a severe case of tendinitis in both shoulder and bicep. Doctor Hottie prescribed Naproxin and therapy, “that will bring tears to your eyes”. I laughed and she said, “I’m not joking”.
Or, I can try Cortisone shots, but still require physical therapy and the ultrasound treatments. She’d rather avoid Cortisone shots if I can continue to handle the pain. (Enter Leafs reference here).
“Based on the swelling and inflammation I see, along with the dramatic loss of mobility, you’re in for the long haul. I hope you didn’t have any plans to go rock climbing this summer?”
Of course being the Wods I am, I tried the,“Will I be able to play the violin when this is all over?”, joke.
Yeah….same reaction as you guys.

I have a poop ton of yard work to do…egads.
- Woderwick

Hey shoulder in pain buddy!

I had an Xray done a few weeks ago followed by an Ultrasound on my left shoulder a couple weeks ago due to pain that ranges from 'sore' to "OMFG even moving my shoulder in the slightest has me writing in pain".

Diagnosis - Some Osteoarthritis, Tendinopathy and an added bonus of a free of charge bone spur in my left shoulder.

I've tried 'doing nothing' with it and that's nearly impossible, Advil / Tylenol / Naproxen don't' really help at all so some nights I barely sleep it's brutal.

I was given the same great news - PT but it's going to hurt. A LOT.

I haven't made a PT appointment yet, just been trying Dr. Ho's on the shoulder and it helps a bit for a bit.

I will try some PT and maybe IMS therapy because my wife tried IMS therapy on her herniated disk with nerve impingement and said immense pain during treatment but mucho relief afterwards.

Hope you find some relief!

The menu is decent and I think your right, other places downtown caught up. lol

I guess that Keg on York is fairly close (what 10 min walk?) but since I have tickets I won't need to hang out there for happy hour and price watch ticket prices - now that might be the play for round 2!

I just had a PK with our national sales team to introduce the new Rally Shads from XZONE Lures launching end of May.

It’s a struggle.

Leafs in 5 just as I predicted.

Leafs game 5 will be their best game.

6-1 Leafs.

Was it you who lost a bet here, and designed a lure with Leaf colours or something?

I have weird, hazy recollection - too weird to be something I dreamt up.

Or maybe we were trying to give it an under the radar Leafs name?

No part in the bet, but I did volunteer involvement. I have some Riplin’ Redfin colour designs and names in the works for 2026. The colour names to Leaf fans will be obvious. If I recall, Zezzie won a bet with AA. AA already covered the bet with Zez, and I’m plodding along after being inspired by their bet.
