Tomorrows Orioles game will be played at 2pm and be closed to the public.

Their series with the Rays will be played in Tampa and the Orioles will be the home team and bat second

The Philadelphia Phillies’ general manager strongly suggested that the Toronto Blue Jays are interested in left-hander Cole Hamels in an unusually candid interview.

“I guarantee I’ll get more grey hairs from my daughter driving than any trade talks with Mozeliak, Anthopoulos and Cherington,” Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. told Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

Padres prospect Matt LaChappa suffered a heart attack while warming up in the bullpen for a start in Class A Rancho Cucumonga in 1996 and is now confined to a wheelchair, but the Padres have renewed his basic minor league contract every season, in part so he can have access to health insurance.

A night after his surprise demotion to triple A, Cody Asche will make his debut in his new career as a left fielder.

Asche is in Lehigh Valley's lineup for Tuesday night's game against Columbus at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown. He will bat second.

It is not known how many triple A games in left field Asche will require before he is recalled to the major league club. He must by rule stay in the minors at least 10 days. When he rejoins the Phillies it's expected Ben Revere will move to right field.

Asche's demotion indicates Maikel Franco's promotion is imminent. Franco entered Tuesday hitting .341 with 12 doubles and four home runs - three in his last six games - and 19 RBIs. He is batting third in Lehigh Valley's lineup for Tuesday night's game and has indicated that he don't give two poops about left field.
